I had my five week follow up today.....he said everything was "normal" I told him of some of the complaints/symptoms I have been having and he said normal...normal...normal...I told him about the pains I have in my thighs and he explained that when they use the retractors to spread abdomen they can hit the nerves that go to the thighs...made sense....he said that I still need to stay out of work for the full 8 weeks. He also said that women who have hysterectomies should be allowed by insurance to stay out longer...that in studies they have done biopsies of the scar at three and six months and a year and it is such a huge difference.....I am glad to be on the road to recovery...although he said we wouldnt have to see each other again (he has been my dr forever...infertility and all these problems) it really hit me that I will never carry a child....what a yucky feeling I know I will get through this...thanks for listening!!!!!

Glad to hear you are healing well but so sorry for your loss. I'm sure it did hit home. I can't say that I know how you feel because I have 2 grown daughters. However, they were young when my husband and I married 15 years ago (my second marriage, his first) and we desperately wanted to have a child together but I had had my tubes tied after the birth of my second (I was 24 and too young but hindsight you know). We looked into a reversal and had tests done and contemplated but we just couldn't swing the $20,000 dollars it would be to get that all done and then no guarantee of conception. The bitter disappointment I felt cannot equal yours, I know, but remembering how badly I felt still brings a pain to my heart. But time does help heal all wounds. We are good listeners here so feel free any time! Hang in there and take care.
