Why not ibuprofen???

Just saw a few posts about drs. recommending no ibuprofen products. Why is that? I was supposed to have my surgeon dr. appointment last Tuesday, and he was sick, so they canceled. I see him next wednesday. I live on motrin. No one told me not to take those. My surgery is Oct. 26th.

Thanks
Lori

Why not ibuprofen???

I was told only to take Tylenol starting 10 days before surgery, the others can case you to bleed more. Good luck and speedy recovery to you.

Why not ibuprofen???

My doctor and anesthesiologist both told me to stop taking ibuprofen 2 weeks prior to surgery because it affects the ability of blood to clot. They also told me no aspirin either for the same reason.

Why not ibuprofen???

Yup, I heard the same. Ibuprofen, like aspirin, causes more bleeding. So off them for now...and oh how I hurt, ache, etc...LOL But will all be over soon!

Why not ibuprofen???

Yep, I was told to stop taking ibuprofen 10 days before surgery. I took at least 3 a day. I stopped at 2 weeks pre-op and switched to extra-strength Tylenol. Back to ibuprofen post-op for about 10 days. Now, no pain!!
