Husband staying at hospital.

I was in hospital for four nights and my husband stayed with me everynight. I had a private room with a couch that made into a bed. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Husband staying at hospital.

As I was not in a private room, my husband was not allowed spend any nights with me as hospital policy was no one of the opposite sex could spend the night because of privacy issues regading the room mate. This also meant that one night one of my room mates was not allowed to have her boy friend spend the night for the sake of my privacy.

Call your hospital and see what their policy is and if you will have a private room or not.

Best wishes to you!

Husband staying at hospital.

My DH could have slept in the recliner but I am pretty independent and would rather he go home to sleep. He tucked me and was back the next day at breakfast. Best wishes ~

I did not have to stay overnight at the hospital. But I was originally supposed to. They told us at pre-op that my husband could stay if he wanted because it was a private room. They had a cot or pull out chair that they could have fixed up for him if the doctor hadn't released me.

Private room that had a chair that converted into a bed. DH stayed both nights even though I encouraged him to go home night 2 because I was obviously in good hands. He would have none of it! He wasn't going anywhere.

I was in a semi private room, so DH couldn't stay. If it had been private, he could have stayed. They told me if I'd had private, they could have brought a recliner chair or cot in for him to stay.

I have no idea if my DH can stay or not. He HATES hospitals and will be coming home. That way he can get a proper rest here and work while I'm in hospital.
This is my 10th surgery, so we really feel like this is "old hat".

I am glad someone else's hubby "hates hospitals." I have been in so much that he feels like it isn't really emergent anymore (which is definitely not good) BUT my hubby stayed on a cot that first night and helped me hit that dang button so I could get a little sleep. It was a major sacrifice for him, lol.
