What part of the wait is ....

As I sit and wait for my doc office to set up the surgery, I have to wonder, is the wait for the date worse, or the time between knowing the date and the actual surgery the worst? It's making me absolutely bonkers waiting, and they said it could take two weeks at least to get a date set. AUGGHH. And the only bad thing is that once I know, it's an almost done deal.

I am in the same boat as you are! It's killing me not knowing when my surgery date is. I feel like once I know the date, I can plan better, even though I have until January. I have 2 kids that need taken care of and everything. I need to call next week and see if they have January's schedule up yet.

For me, it's been the wait since knowing my date. I've known since Aug. 22 that my surgery would be Nov. 13th. To keep busy and my mind off the upcoming surgery, I've done many projects at home and work, and for others (i.e., cleaning, painting, repairing, etc), as I too, am a planner.
I found out my date on the very first office visit with my GYN...so there was no waiting there for me.
Everything is just about in order to where I'll feel ready to be out-of-commission for 6 or so weeks. Good thing, cuz I'm just about outta time anyway...ready or not!
Just to let you know, the time has flown by!!!

I agree that occupying myself with projects is helping pass the time and keep me from getting too frazzled with nerves. I pretty much have Christmas all done; I am decorating the house the weekend before my surgery; there are several meals ready in the freezer; now I am starting decluttering and cleaning. Reading your wonderful posts also boosts my spirit!! Thank you, one and all!!

Waiting for my date was brutal --- I signed Aug. 11 and just found out yesterday that I go Nov. 15th.
I'm soooo relieved that I can actually start getting organized now and don't have to keep saying "I'm having surgery but I don't know when" like I'm some kind of psycho-symatic crazy lady! LOL

Waiting for the date was rough for me too. As I get closer, it's a toss up for what is harder, but I'm leaning toward waiting for the date.

My DR actually gave me a choice of dates, before the holidays or after. I elected after so I would now mess up everyone's plans and my kids fun. Surgery is scheduled Jan 11th and the waiting will make me nuts. The project list is getting too big now....

I scheduled my surgery right away. It had been years of waiting for me to decide to do it. They weren't that bad.

The waiting for the surgery itself has been much harder. I've decided I will never be prepared for this and I must try to enjoy my last few days before my trip to the castle or I'm going to make myself crazy.

Tonight we are having a Farewell to my Uterus party. Tomorrow I am having eyebrow wax and massage. Sunday is football day. Monday I work. Tuesday I'm off to the castle.

Four more days .... four more days...

Any of the waiting is worse lol. I really mean waiting IS the worse. The morning of the surgery you will experience this calm in knowing finally it will be done with.

Good luck to you all. You will get through this. It wasn't that long ago I was on the waiting side....soon you'll be post op and recovering. Hang in there and keep the faith in God..he will get you through it
