Question - using premarin cream for leakage..how long to knowi if it is working? using premarin cream for leakage..how long to knowi if it is working?

Hello ladies,
I started using premarin cream a couple of weeks ago because I have some incontinence issues. My gyn wanted to try this first before anything else. I am on no HRT because of endo so he thought maybe my bladder muscles became atrophy.
Could anyone tell me how long it takes to know if it is working? So far, it doesn't seem to be. I go back to see my gyn on the 16th. Any thoughts??

Thanks for listening...God bless
Crystal

I didn't use premarin, but another preparation, but I was told not to expect to notice a difference for at least 3 weeks. In fact with me it took 4 weeks. I had to use the cream daily for 2 weeks, then once a week thereafter.Don't give up yet!

Thanks scriv.....I'm going to keep the faith that this will work!! I've had five surgeries in the last three years and don't want to have any more. I'm not crazy about using the cream, but I don't want to have incontinence issues at 33 either.....

Take care....

My gyn explained that it takes 2 weeks of daily application to get the right level of oestrogen in the tissues to plump up the tissues again. I assume you are also doing kegels?!!

using premarin cream for leakage..how long to knowi if it is working?

I am doing kegels and I did pelvic floor physical therapy almost a year ago for poor pelvic floor muscles. I use the cream three times a week. I guess we will see what my gyn says on the 16th. I have other symptoms too, so I'm not sure if its atrophy of muscles, fistula or something else. I have been reading other posts and some of my other symptoms along with the leakage is symptoms of a fistula. He didn't even mention that as a possibility when I went to see him. I trust him, he's been good to me, but I also want to make sure he is really listening to me and my symptoms.

Thanks for the feedback...have a great day!!

I was using to cream (10 days) for a recotcele but ended up with a REALLY foul odor. Dr tested for infection (know Modnday if positive) and has me using Boric acid suppositories for 2 weeks. He suggested switching to Estring. DId any of you have bad odor with the Premarin and has anyone tried the ring?
