home and stir-crazy

Hi, everybody! I'm home and going crazy. My TAH was midday on Tuesday and I went home Thursday morning. Interestingly enough, I had only a few spots of blood the first day and since then nothing. It's a strange feeling for someone who was used to constant tampons and pads.
I want to thank all of you for your support and well-wishes. It really helped.
I do have a suggestion for any who are having trouble with gas passing and that first bm. If you have a short stool or some type of footprop, put it in the bathroom. For some reason, the postion seemed to help. It also let my thighs support my belly incinsion and gave my elbows a place to rest when I held my head because my nether regions hurt so badly. As an added bonus for us vertically-challenged women, your legs won't go to sleep in case you're there a while.
Well, wishing everyone the best. I go tomorrow to get the staples out.

Holding a pillow in your lap can also be a great help. Use it to push against your bellow when you need to push for the BM. Be sure to take some type of fiber or stool softener if you are having great difficulty.
