Confused about hormone therapy

Hi Joyce!

If your doctor wants you to avoid hormone therapy for a period of time to be sure the endo has time to die, you probably should not take the black cohosh either. Check with your doctor to be sure, but many will not allow it as it can have the same effect on endometriosis that estrogen has.

There is no agreed upon way to handle hormone therapy post-op in cases of endometriosis. Some doctors withhold it completely while others prescribe it immediately. Some will prescribe progesterone or progestin, with or without estrogen, as that hormone can help counteract the effects of estrogen on endometriosis. It's best to follow your own doctor's orders and not risk growing any microscopic bits of endo that may have been left.

Let us know what your doctor says, okay?

Confused about hormone therapy

HI Joyce,

I too had a tah/bso for endo.

I started using the hot flash cocktail on the hormone jungle tab, then I tried hrt (a few different forms) and I had a hard time finding what would work for me. I am how using natural progesterone cream, natural estrogen, and vitamins, oils, and herbs. I have been doing well. It has been some trial and error along the way.

I agree with April Dawn too talk to your doctor about what you are using or what you are intending to use a head of time. My doctor has helped me along the way to find what is best for me.

Best of luck,

Hugs,

Sharon
