A new way of life

I am 6 and a half months out. I can run around all day or just sit in a chair for 12 hours I will still have the same swelly belly at night time. When I know I am going out and want to look and feel good. I stop eatting at 2 because right after dinner I swell up no matter what I eat. I do not swell up because of the gym work out.

I bend at night and can feel my belly press againtest my breasts. I read a post here saying it had been a few years since her operation and still at night she is 2 inches bigger than in the AM.

This is my life now I guess, I have had all the tests. I have to come to terms with my new belly. I hate it, I spend alot of time working out before my TAH I wasn't a size 4 but now at a size 12 or 14 I feel robbed of my body. I still work out but I notice how different my belly feels on certain machines.

I have waited almost 7 months for this swelly belly to go away. I have to realize it won't. And God knows I have tried everything.

A new way of life

Dear Janet,

I'm nearly 3 months out, and I hear you, sister, about the belly. Good idea about the eating part! I'm slowly getting back to my treadmill routine. The doc said it would be slow, and it surely is! But I did 2 miles today at 2.5 mph. It's nothing like what I had been doing before the hyst, but it sure is better than what I could do only a month ago!

A new way of life

A year, that seems to be the magical number here. So a week before my 48th birthday I should be better. I tell you this, I won't go without a battle. I will still go to the gym three times a week and watch what I eat. I no longer eat beef or dairy it seems my belly gets worse after eatting those things. I have been tested for IBS first they said yes, now the MRI and Catscan say no.
