Ovarian cysts

My name says I am Wendy from Bama....thats not true anymore, now it Wendy From Minnesota...LOL It has been a long time since i have posted, but now I have some questions.
FYI: Vag Hysterectomy 2003, kept ovaries.
Last year I had a kidney stone, and was told that they saw a cyst on one of my ovaries, I had it checked out, I had (2) 7 mm cysts on my right ovary, well I used the Nuvaring, low does birth control, for several months, and Dr was so emphatic that it was nothing, that I dismissed it as well, and didnt go back to the Dr. WELL, now 17 month later, I have been having almost constant pain on my right side for several weeks now, I went to a New Dr ( since I have moved) and he said my cysts...are now just 1 cyst, and it is 4 cm by 5 cm, partially clear and the other part is hazy, He said clear is good, I said so what is mine? He said " in between. " SO I had some blood work done, and thats where my questions comes in, he ordered the progesterone and a sedrate, which is used to check for arthrisits??????? Um....anyone have a clue as to WHY he is checking me for that, or could he have checked that by accident?? The nurse I spoke to today said she had no idea WHY he is checking for that, and didn't offer to find out why. I was not overly impressed with his nursing staff, but he was really nice. So , I will call back on Monday to ask about that again. Anyway my progesterone was normal, she said that ment that my ovaries were functioning. He did start me on estradiol 2 mg for 1 month then a recheck, if its better, I will keep it, if not...its coming out. Maybe laproscopiclally , but because of my previous surgeries ( hysto/ c-section) that he may have to go in to remove it. Any information would be wonderful....Thanks!

Hi Wendy, I am glad you found us again. I am sorry about the cyst they can sure be painful. I have no clue as to why your dr is checking that. I think calling and asking him about it is the best thing to do. I hope the estradiol works and you get to keep your ovary. Please let us know what you find out. Lots of 's, Carol
