My first post-op "real" outing today

I went on my first "real" outing today since having my hyst.
I had my hyst on a Wednesday, came home on a Friday and didn't leave my house until Thursday (Thanksgiving) and that was just a few blocks away to my in-laws house...
Last night I drove for the first time. I had to have some Taco Bueno and hubby didn't take my HINT I gave him that I needed some food... So, I drove the few miles and got my own quesadilla!!
Today hubby and I went shopping. I consider that my first real outing since surgery. We went Christmas shopping. Went to Wal-Mart, Staples, the mall, and a bookstore/entertainment store called Hastings.
I was VERY tired and ready to come home and take a pain pill by the time I got home, but I still feel fine this evening (2 hours after returning home)
Just thought I'd pass it along that SOMEWHAT "normal" life can resume within two weeks of having a TAH BSO.

My first post-op "real" outing today

Don't be too shocked if you have to take it easy the next couple of days. At least that's what I learned. Your body may tell you that you're not ready yet. I'm hoping I'm wrong and that you are a wonderfully quick healer. It felt great didn't it? :-)

My first post-op "real" outing today

Hey Moogiepet,

Glad to hear your recovery is quick and easier than most. Mine has been too - I almost worried about how GOOD I was feeling so early! I'm nearly back to normal activities after SAH and am very anxious for my five week check on Thursday to be cleared for more intimate things... I have had a few "off" days here and there, but think that's due more to the anemia than the actual surgery. Every day is a bit better and I think you're off to a wonderful recovery!
