Unhappy - My surgeon won't help My surgeon won't help

I had a sling and cystocele repair along with vag hyst. They had done a log and 2 urine tests and determined I was leaking urine and not being able to tell when my bladder was full. I am 8 weeks out, and my surgeon released me about 2 wks ago. I called to tell them I am feeling pressure and not emptying correctly. They want me to go back to my regular gyno. My regular gyno nurse told me on the phone I needed to go to my regular doc. Doc was not in, so I went to immediate care and they said I had no infect. Cullure later
showed no infection, either. I am concerned that something is wrong with my repairs and I am really getting the run around. What can I do? they now suggest I go to a urologist, but I feel this is the gyn/surg problem and he should help. I don't think he wants to help me because I the urine tests he ran on me before were very painful - he said I had a very sensitive urethra.

See a uro gyn. Your sling may be too tight and have to be cut. Were you leaking before the sling was put in? the urethra may be too sensitive because the sling is pressing on it. I would seek another opinion.

Hi Gern,
I too think you should see a URO/GYN , they are more up to date on these new procedures dealing with A/P repairs ( most surely if mesh is involed as in my case )
I wish you the best & God speed in your recovery !!

I agree with the previous posts, you want to make sure you are emptying and a uro/gyn is the specialist. Not emptying correctly can lead to infections in your bladder and sometimes your kidneys. Good Luck. I don't think I would want to see the surgeon again if his attitude is to blow you off. Hugs.

Thanks, Sisters. I will go see the specialist. One person did tell me they were refused help because he was not the one to do the surgery. We'll see what happens.
Thanks again,
Gern
