Dryness is driving me nuts! Anyone try Preparation H?

Just a thought. I have tried everything over the counter. GYN finally gave me some estrogen cream, but after reading all the warnings on it, am more than leary. This Dr. also told me to try crisco & olive oil!? I even tried diaper cream, but I quess that is supposed to be drying, so not a good idea! Please, what REALLY works??

Dryness is driving me nuts! Anyone try Preparation H?

I have used the vaginal estrogen cream with good results. I have not found it to get in my system and if any does it is very minimal. I think it also has helped my slight incontinence issues and tissues in that area.
I also have used Replens and Astroglide. I honestly would not use anything inside the vagina unless it has been made for use in there.
I would not use food products because they are not subject to the same manufacturing standards as medical products intended for use in the vagina, plus it's very possible for bacteria to get into a bottle of olive oil or crisco once it's opened and reproduce in there.

I would think the Preparation H would not be good for the vagina either, as there are things in there that might irritate and burn the vagina, and just compound problems. If it is not made for the area , I would not use it .

I hope you find something that will work for you.

Estrogen vaginal cream is perscription from your dr. The cream is very low dose. Estrogen for vagina comes in other forms like pill, so you want to discuss what is best for you.

I hear you so very loud and clear....
I too have these problems - and bad!
You 'can' have an overgrowth of bacteria if you use oils or products taht are not the same ph balance
Two products with the same ph balance are astroglide and replens. They work differently so read the inserts. Replens is meant for all the time....astroglide more for sexual activity.
