Lost my Dad in Oct...tears from a lack of hormones?

Greetings, My father passed away in October, and I can't seem to stop crying. Iam not taking anything hormone wise and haven't been for several years. My husband seems to think all these tears are from my lack of hormones, I think I need some kind of antidepressent. I've already gone thru the patch withdraw thing so Iam not sure. Nothing else has changed.
Thanks,
Ms Inquizative

Lost my Dad in Oct...tears from a lack of hormones?

Hi - I am so sorry about your loss. You do need to allow yourself some grieving time - that is totally normal after such a huge loss. Have you been through symptoms of no hormones before? If so, does this feel familiar? Is your doctor someone you feel you can talk to about your situation? They may have some options for you, even if it's just short term, or they may want to check your hormone levels just to see where they are.

I send you 's and best wishes. We are here for you.

Lost my Dad in Oct...tears from a lack of hormones?

I'm so sorry about the loss of your Father. I lost my Mother four years and I still miss her every single day. When my Mother died I wasn't on any hormones. I started hormones two years ago and feel worse than I did without them. I know my grief made me cry all the time. I feel that if I hadn't cryed I would have probably had a heart attack. I know when I was overcome with grief I just couldn't stop the crying. No one can tell you how long it will last as it is totally a person grief. There certainly isn't a time table. I know my husband felt I should be getting better but I told him it wasn't his Mother and he didn't know how I felt. Now he understands what he didn't four years ago. It's hard to tell how hormones will affect a person when they are grieving.
My prayers are with you.

Lost my Dad in Oct...tears from a lack of hormones?

My condolences for your loss - I know when I lost my Dad in June 2005 I cried nearly every day for 3 months and started to be concerned, but a friend helped me realize it was a normal grieving process. I hope you can find some consolation soon but give yourself the time you need to grieve your loss. Hugs for the holiday season!

I Recently Lost My Daddy Too ='(

My Deepest Sympathy..I understand your pain.

My Dad had his retirement party this past July 15th.He was 64 & 2 months retired of working all his life.
July 31st he passed in his home from DVT (deep vein thrombosis)
It was a complete shock to the whole family as my Dad was in great health!
Im still in disbelief & it's been about 5 months.
The crying yes..it comes in ~waves~ and it takes awhile, eveyone's grieving & time is differant, this is normal.Hormones or not,you have a heart that is hurting.
Please remember he is still with you & all he loved & loved him.
Life sure is not easy honey, all we can do is take one day at a time.

Lost my Dad in Oct...tears from a lack of hormones?

I am sorry you lost your dad. I am facing a dad with terminal lung cancer ,and the lose is going to come at some point ,and I can only imagine what this will be like when he is gone.

Your emotions might be a combination of hormones and grieving. If you find you are not getting past the grief after a period of time of allowing yourself to grieve , then I would see my dr and see what he suggests you do. You very well may be low in estrogen, if you are not on anything.

Sending s your way.
