Returning to work

How long did you wait to return to work? I am scheduled to return after four weeks - my mind says yes but my body is saying maybe. Any suggestions on those who have been there?

Returning to work

You don't say what kind of surgery you had, but 4 weeks is probably pushing it at any point. Has your Dr released you to return to work? This is a question to ask him.

You also need to take into account what kind of work you do. Are you on your feet all the time or stuck sitting in one place all the time? Is there any possibility you can start back part time? But this is only if your Dr says you can go back!

Please take it easy. Listen to your body. If your body says to wait, then please do. Remember, you only have one chance to heal right!

Best wishes.

Back to Work

Hi Lydia

I jsut returned to work this week. At my 4 week check up I was not ready to return and I was scheduled for 6 wks. My DD said I needed more time and extended my leave 2 weeks.

Listen to your body, if you absolutely have to return make sure your doctor states part-time or light duties depending on your job, for several weeks.

The best of luck to you, and listen to your body.

Returning to work

The Dr. said I could go back but with light duty - no lifting, no hallway with the students, try to sit when teaching. I had both ovaries and my uterus removed through the abdomen. Still painful but ...

Is your principal willing to let you come back half days? Do you have a leave bank in your district?
