I have been hearing that even after your overies are removed you still get that feeling once a month. The mood swings, crabby, ittitable, but without the period. And this can continue for a few months after surgery. Is this true?

Hi Kimmico,

I know for me, this is true. I've been keeping a meno log for quite some time now and I still cycle just like when I had ovaries and uterus. I'm not sure if I would if I wasn't taking HRT because those hormones relay to the brain, but without them my brain would starve! There's a book out called "Women's Moods" by by Sichel and Driscoll you may want to check out to understand moods and hormones. TTFN!

I still had what seemed to be cycles for a few months after my surgery. They did eventually stop. Here's an interesting thread that has a plausible explanation Cycles after a hysterectomy
