A Passion for Fashion

Last night, getting ready for bed, I discovered that I'm on the leading edge of a new fashion. Thought I'd share it with you.

It begins with old, holey undies that hold the sanitary napkin I find I'm now wearing 24/7. The accents in the pad match the color of the undies, as they've faded to the point of having almost no color at all.

Then I layered old pj's - chosen for the loose waist band that allowed me to perch the band just below my belly (along with the undies) to allow salve for a rash to be put on.

As you can tell, I'm already looking pretty jaunty here. But, wait, it gets better..

I've been having a bad attack of Sciatica. A heating pad helps, but I can't wear it at night. I had some ThermaPads on hand - the kind that heat up for 8 hours once you stick them on. They unfortunately were for my shoulder and weren't big enough for my lower back.

No problem. I stuck two of them on my back and added another one to my shoulder for good measure. They are terrific fashion accents!

Then, the ultimate accessory - white socks for my cold feet.

What an ensemble!

There you have it, ladies, the HysterSister fashion plate!

Oops! Guess I should have added some smilies to my post. I was trying for humor.

You see, I caught sight of myself as I was slipping into bed and burst into hysterical laughter. My first good laugh since finding out that my surgery had been postponed until next week. Thought I'd share it with you all.

I thought your post was most humorous. The best part of my post op was throwing out every pair of undies that I had and my husband buying me 6 packs of NEW UNDIES, woo hoo 30 pair of white undies with no bloodstains .. I was thrilled. ( yes I am easily excited LOL ) Thank you for the wonderful post Nelia, it was cute!

Got a call back from my doctor's office and Tylenol was OK'd for me. They will even prescribe it with Codeine, if I need it. Don't think I will, as the regular stuff is taking the edge off the Sciatica. No more hot patches worn to bed! Got out of bed relatively easily this morning.

I ordered new undies, night shirts, robe, and slippers a few weeks ago. Won't wear any of them until after surgery to give myself a nice treat during recovery.

LOL
Poor DH caught it the other night! He ]thought he was being funny, see that key word was thought
I was getting ready for bed and had on my big old panties with 2 pads and he says "hey you sure do look sexy in those purple panties and your diaper" Yea, I lost it! I told him I didn't find one ounce of humor in any of this. I am miserable and I am ready for it to be over. As I got into bed, he scooted over and hugged me and said he was sorry. Then added, "you have to laugh in the face of it, it's almost over"
I felt bad for getting mad, but you all know how it is when you deal with this day in and day out, there isn't much humor involved anymore. And it does do something for your self esteem and sexiness-having to wear a "diaper" to bed with your 6 month belly...it's hard enough to even think of yourself as a sexual being without the "humor"!

granny knickers

What a giggle! Love a good sense of humour especially when you have to laugh or you will cry. I have just bought a heap of petty post op knickers (undies) and pjs in the post Christmas sales here. (do you have these in US?) Can hardly wait to be rid of the granny knickers!! Hang in there...not much longer now and you will be a new you
