Side- effects of Premarin Cream

Hi ladies! I've used Premarin Cream for 2 weeks now , it does seem to be helping but I wonder about side effects?! Do any of you have any problems w/external burning and/or sensitivity? Do the benefits outweigh the negatives? Are there better alternatives? Thanks! Lori

Side- effects of Premarin Cream

Hi Lori,
I have been on Premarin Cream for about 4 weeks now. (MD told me to take it to help stregthen and heal things post enterocele and rectocele repair) I am 30 years old and I have both of my ovaries. Since I have been on the cream I have been really warm all of the time-at times sweating ...I am not sure if this is a side effect or if I am starting menopause already. (God help me, NO!!!!) Also, a nice side effect I have noticed is that my breasts are getting larger. I was a 32A, and I bought a 36A today

Side- effects of Premarin Cream

Hi Lori

I didn't have any side effects from Premarin cream. A small percentage of women may be sensitive to the propylene glycol in the cream base and develop sort of an allergic reaction to it.

Premarin cream is (imho) the most effective short term remedy for vaginal dryness and atrophy. Once you have things under control, you could either decrease how much you use or switch to a less potent alternative if you wish. I have also used compounded estriol cream and Vagifem for this purpose and both were very effective. Right now I prefer the Vagifem because it's very convenient to use and not messy at all.

s,
-Linda
