Which Natural Progesterone are You Using, OTC...

Well, I just do not have the money to go to a doctor that can tell me what kind of progesterone I will need to have mixed up for me at a compounding pharmacy...I guess I could call my doctors office and see if my doctor does that but I REALLY doubt it! So I have been looking out there for and OTC Natural Progesterone. If you are using an OTC Natural Progesterone which one is it and how are you liking it? I am looking into getting the Avmazon Healthy Progesterone Cream in the 4.4 fl oz bottle with pump. It measures out 6 mg for each full pump and they recommend 2 pumps in the am and 2 pumps in the pm. I would love some suggestions. Thank you ladies for all your help. I'm doing great, but just need to work on these mood swings and I am very estrogen domonent right now...that may change as time goes by though so we shall see, but for now I have been told by a Wellness doctor that I should try a natural progesterone cream for the things I'm going through right now. Thank you ladies!!!

Gina,
Many times a Compounding Pharmacist can help to educate your doctor and will advise on writing a script if the doctor isn't sure. When I first started the compounded hormones I was having a hard time locating a doctor who was knowledgeable about compounded hormones. In desparation I called my pharmacist and talked with my gp doc. My pharmacist called my doctor and they worked it out.

Has your doctor advised you that you are estrogen dominant? I think it is best to talk with your doctor about your symptoms and get his/her advise.

If you decide to go the OTC route, be sure the list of ingredients includes "USP Progesterone". There are many creams out there that proclaim to be progesterone, but don't really contain any. It should also contain at least 450mg per oz. I would also check the label to see if it includes other unnecessary ingredients.

Good luck!

Thanks so much Kim...that's a big help. I will call my doctor and see what he can do and if that doesn't seem to get me any were I will just get this Healthy Progesterone Cream that I've been researching. It has everything your talking about and nothing bad or synthetic added to it. I really appreciate your help.
