I am 2 weeks post op and yesterday would have been the day that AF would have arrived. I went through that day without a migraine. I was all excited that the thought of not dealing with monthly migraines(I would about 4 to 6 migraines a month.....around ovulation, CD 18, CD, 21/23 and 3 third day of my period and the 8th day of my period).
Well, guess what I have had the past few hours............a MIGRAINE!! I guess a positive note is that I don't have to deal with cramps and heavy bleeding. I just pray it is not as bad as what it was. I kept my ovaries due to my strong family history of breast cancer. I did not want to take that risk of adding HRT so early. Oh well, I guess I can't have everything. Maybe all the night sweats, moodiness, hot flashes and weepiness were all period related (I always had this with my PMS) and not the ovaries not working so soon after surgery. It is just that my DR really told me that I would not have any PMS. I would feel myself ovulated, but that is about it. Boy, was he WRONG. Thank you all for letting me vent.

Migrainer also

Don't get too discouraged yet, I too am a migrainer and there are usually several triggers. I had horrible migraines with my cycle, but other things also could bring them on...pain meds included. Too much sleep, too little sleep, stress, allergies. Maybe today's migraine is related to one of these?? I just take great comfort in knowing that I will not have the menstral migraines to deal with!
Hope you get some relief soon

I feel your pain

I am sooo sorry you are having a migraine. I have been headache free since the day after my surgery (I know - it is only 6 days - but that is good for me.) I made the decision to have my ovaries out - because my gyn thinks he can manage the hrt at a level low enough to control symptoms but not trigger migraines - I sure hope he can. I also have migraines at other times as well - and I hope that is what yours is now - like the stress of wondering if you would get one at that special time of the month.

I will send prayers your way that the headache doesn't get too bad and that it goes away very quickly.
