Hands are swollen.

I had a complete hyst on 11/14 and was put on climara patch .1 right after surgery, I felt pretty good, I did have some nausea, but that's not so bad to me. before the surgery my hands were swollen all the time, to the point that they hurt. after the surgery, my Doc. said my ovaries were the size of lemons and that's why I was feeling so terrible. The swelling went away. I was so excited. but the patch kept falling off, so he switched me to premarin .625 and now my hands are swollen terribly again. The patch was a higher dose and I felt good for the most part and this is a smaller dose of estrogen why would I now have "too much" side effects? any opinions. my doctor is really flexible on switching stuff around. but he doesn't think I need anything but estrogen. I'm 38 yrs old.

Hi! My hands, fingers in particular, swell when I have too much estrogen. I guess everyone is different. My body can handle a higher patch amount versus the transdermal gel. Different rates of absorption?? Good luck with figuring it out!

I haven't had any problems with my Vivelle dot coming off, but I've read of other sisters having a problem keeping the patches on and using Tegaderm over the patch to keep it on. My doctor also put me on only estrogen. I'm 46.
