catnapper - could it be the fog??? my name has always been singingmad... but people have managed to provide quite a variety of interpretations! No problem.

As for those of us feeling bad about not having any more babies. That's a perfectly normal feeling. Most women go through that same feeling to some extent when they hit menopause. True they're older so people figure "oh get over it, yo'ure too old" but really its a perfectly reasonable feeling to have. I never had children. Never really thought about it... even when I was very little, for some reason or other my Barbie Doll hooked up with my brother's GI Joe and ADOPTED a baby! LOL But I find myself now feeling the finality of it all. Just respect the feelings. If they get overwhelming or impact your ability to function I'd recommend talking to someone about it, but if its just sadness, allow yourself to grieve that change in your life. Its saying goodbye to possibilities, doesn't mean you'd have taken advantage of them, but they were there.

Hi girls,
Babcocks, thanks for you nice words, it is frustrating not being allowed to do stuff when you know that you are quite capable of getting it done quicker and (dare I say it) probably better!!! PS sz 8-navy blue-no problem...how many pairs?
Kappel and Rodswife, I had my son when I was 19 (I am now 43), I tried for a very long time after to have more, it was never to happen. His dad and me divorced when he was 14. I now have a wonderful DH and I inherited 4 more boys. My son is the youngest of them all at 24 and they have all left home. My DH and me have never wanted to add to this, but we do take enormous pleasure in spending their inheritance
Poco', It is a bummer to heal slowly. I know! I have my post op tomorrow and I am so hoping to have all my restrictions lifted, or at least be allowed to drive again. :steer:
I can do without all the housework, I have got used to not doing it. I hope you
Bagpus, I hope you got on OK today, please let us know.

Wow Happy Now. I hope you DO get released to drive again. My doc actually kind of released me after my FIRST post op which was at like day 6. But he told me to "test drive" first which meant to sit in the seat, turn my body the way I'd have to to look behind, move my feet around on the pedals... and he made it VERY clear, if I had ANY discomfort NOT TO DRIVE because if there was an emergency I'd have a problem. I didn't try driving until about week 4.... and only for very short trips at that. But now I"m up to half hour drives to and from work and out to the store. I guess every doctor is different in what they will or won't allow.

Hello Princess48, Congratulations on your recovery, However I am sure that you should still be taking it easy, I am hoping to have restrictions lifted tomorrow but I will not do everything straight away. We have not done certain things for some time and our bodies have got used to this, so if we dive in and do to much our bodies are certain to object.
If I were you I would start with a little and work my way up with a little more each day, be gentle with yourself and I am sure things will work out. Good luck

Hi there Singingmad, I am going stir crazy not being able to get out. I went out to the supermarket last night with my DH in the driving seat, but he has a business, so it's not always easy for him to get the time to go. We have been living on take away food for the last few weeks...great at first, a real treat, but now I am sick of the sight of it and would die to eat real food.
We live in the country with no neighbours, so it's got a bit boring.
Hyster sisters has been so welcome in my house, I wouldn't have been without it for anything.
's to all.

Hi Girls

I went for my six week check yesterday and have been cleared for all activities. Husband is overseas, so I went shopping instead!!

I had a big bleed 2 weeks ago for a few days but with no other symptoms of infection. Doc put me on two lots of strong antibiotics for a week as a precaution. Yesterday he said there is a small chance that the bleed was "cyclical" and it may be back 4 weeks later. This is really hanging over me although i am trying not to dwell on it (it was not what i would call a "mini period" - it was Aunt Flo with a vengeance). I have two weeks to wait. He said that if it re-occurs, he will have to go in again (this time laporoscipally - and previously he said he wasn't qualified to do my hyst that way) and further cauterize top of cervix. I asked him why he would not just remove cervix and he said he thought it best if I keep it. I will be getting a second opinion if the bleeding comes back, that's for sure.

Meanwhile, fingers crossed.

He also made me have a blood test for thyroid because he said my eyes are "starey" and my pulse was racing (um, whose aren't when they have a foreign object probing their doo-da?). I know that my starey eyes were due to wearing my reading glasses too much and I have problems focussing for a few minutes when I take them off. Pulse was due to black and nasty coffee I had b4 going in! I know best. When will he get it??!!

Wishing you all well
MP.
PS Happynow, wish I could come and cook for you. i love to cook and there's only me here.

Princess 48,
I did too much one day at 4 weeks and started having a pain on the left side of my abdomen enough that I started taking pain meds again for a couple of days. I am now 5 weeks and 2 days and just now getting better. So even though you had restrictions lifted I would take it easy and if you feel pain stop it's not worth it.

Oh Megapixel, Australia is my absolute favourite place in the whole world, I'll come to you and we can share the cooking!
My DH and me have done 2 toours of Aus' now, once we had 6 weeks and the 2nd time we had 2 months. We were due to go again this last October but my doctor wouldn't let me go. I would move out there tomorrow but he can't leave his business. We were lookoing at buying a house there but we decided that we would have to live 6 months here and then 6 months there, but again he can't leave the business for that long...roll on retirement. Where do you live?
