Babcocks, I'm on my feet most of the day at work, too, and think I overdid it today. After a few "good" days I guess I thought I was okay to go flying around the store. My back and tummy are pretty sore tonight. Tomorrow is my day off so I'm going to try to take it easy.

Lou49, congrats on the good path report. I'm glad you benefited from the advise on our thread.

Take care everyone.

Hair

I got my hair cut by the new gal tonight and am happy to report that it came out fine. It's about 2 inches shorter in a shoulder length bob. This is the cut I wish I had gotten before the surgery because I think it will be so much easier to work with. I'm all for a day of pampering. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could all get together and get our fingers and toes done. And while we're there we could throw in a facial and a massage. After what we've been through, we deserve it!

BEST MEDICINE IDEA Maybe we should all set a time and go at least we'd be together in spirit during the spoiling!!1

Hello ladies! Thanks for your warm support!

Just received the week 5 - 6 checkpoints. I feel quite emotional as a result of reading them but I don't understand why? Have not had any tricky emotional moments at all since surgery as I am nearly 55, am blessed with two wonderful kids and dh, was post-menopausal anyway and didn't need the reproductive bits any more anyway. Was quite well before my operation so am not one of these 'you'll feel so much better now you've had the surgery' kind of girls. My aim is to get back to where I was before the surgery.

So why do I feel odd? I realised last night that I was actually very relieved by my surgeon telling me that everything was OK; more relieved than I had realised. Not that I had really expected bad news - well, I didn't know, but figured that if there was anything he would have called me back sooner rather than wait five weeks. But I guess that actually hearing that it was all OK was the big deal.

Any comment from anyone else who maybe felt a bit weird after getting those checkpoints?

Thanks so much.
Hugs to all
Louise

I am with you emotionally it seems. I spent so much time avoiding surgery, then worring about pain and complications, then healing. Now I am doing so much better and I ahve this flood of emotions. I try to describe it but it's like they are lurking in the corners and I can't quite identify them. Maybe I am resentful for this whole ordeal that began when my period started. I don't know. But I kind of feel like I am picking through an emotional battlefield. A different kind of healing I guess..... A delayed reaction.

Good morning, thanks for the replies about the birthday dilema. I am happy to say I survived it.My DS had a good time,it was nice to spend the time with him, instead of hosting a huge party.I just don't know where the time went.My sister knows someone who is in need of a sitter 3 days a week for a toddler and a newborn(not born yet though) at my house. I am a daycare teacher of about 14 toddlers at a center(very demanding chasing them, feeding them, changing all those diapers, cleaning up after them). My dr says I am still not ready to do that yet. This other offer won't start till the fall. Do I take this time to take care of myself and get back to 100%, then try the babysitting? Or don't do it at all. Please everyone give me your input, tell me what you think.
Thanks
Jayne

AngieDawn sorry you had another surgery. Well I am glad you are getting better. I am getting there myself. I am taking my teenage dd to the dentist today. The dog went to the vet yesterday. I have 2 more dogs to take yet but I am only doing one at a time. I was kind of tired after taking the one yesterday. Not much going on the rest of y the week so far.Well hope all of you have a great day bye!

take some quiet time and think do I want the day care job or do I deserve more relaxed at home approach. Can we afford to do this. I never thought of this and had a similar choice. We took it and had a darling girl who was a blessing. Meet the parents and the child. Even do a trial day to see before making a final decision.

Guineapigs38, the first thought that comes to mind is whether you'd be giving up benefits such as insurance, sick leave, etc. at the daycare center. It might be helpful to sit down with pen and paper and make a list of the pros and cons. Good luck with your decision.
