Pia,

I wrote you a novel of a response but it has disappeared. I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you. There is nothing scarier than having your child be so sick. My dd had to have emergency surgery for a life threatening condition when she was only 6 days old and I know how terrifying it is to have them hooked up to so much stuff. I hope your family feels better for the weekend.

Pia - we had that same stomach bug the second week after my surgery. First my mother came down with it... seemed like so sudden! She was SO sick for like three days, wouldn't drink anything, ended up in the hospital on fluids... then my DP got it and dragged for a week with all the symptoms you describe... then I came down with it and was passing out cold throwing up, the whole thing. YUCK!!!! And its so easy for little ones to get dehydrated. We started buying gatorade in six packs and making sure EVERYONE drank the stuff all day long and WASHED OUR HANDS constantly!!!! We're better now but it is a nasty bug. Sorry to hear it hit your house like that!

We had about four inches of snow, but my mom got to the airport and her plane is on schedule so far! I've got a BIG day ahead of me with work, attending a plating at a new restaurant I'm helping with, and TWO singing rehearsals. By the time I get home I'm sure I'll just fall into bed and be SO happy I have tomorrow off!!!!

To Joyteam I've been reading your posts and I have been feeling the same way as you but I still enjoy reading all the posts even though I don't get much responce either, but thats ok. My surgery was one day from yours and it's hard to believe Friday will be 8 weeks. How are you coming along, good I hope!! It sure is a long recovery time but I feel pretty good concidering everything was taken out, but very glad the cancer is GONE! The next 3 years will tell and every day is a blessing. When you are told you have cancer it changes your whole outlook on life and I feel like one of the lucky ones to have another chance. I'm glad I found this site and it has helped me ( as well as all the sisters ) in the recovery process. I hope everyone is having a good day. The weather here has gone from 72 to 29 but next week should be getting warmer. Thats Michigan! Sandy

Bill's Wife and joyteam: you're not alone. I tend to be more of an observer than a participant. But hang in there I know what you're saying about the recovery process. My daughter was over last night & asked if I was 100%. Some days I feel like I am until evening. My energy only seems to last for 3/4 of the day. Then at night I'm flashing & irritable (wine helps!). But I, too, am thankful that it is behind me and am well on my way to being my old self again. It's been a great lesson in patience.
A blessed Easter to all.

Talking - Hysterectomy dates Feb 05-Feb 12,2007 Just for Fun

For those who celebrate...what are you doing for Easter???

My family is going to church in the morning, then to my sisters at 2pm for a potluck, and to my in-laws at 5pm for a sit down dinner. I am so excited. I love coloring eggs with the kids and how cute they look when they are all gussied up. My ds is 7 now and has outgrown most of his nice clothes. I went to JCPenney last weekend and got him a navy pinstripe suite on sale for $40.00!!!! I got my dd the most beautiful purple dress, unfortunatly it was 68 degrees when I bought it last weekend and it is going to be 30 for easter. I need to find thick tights and a pretty sweater

How do your families celebrate?

Wow- about 6 pages of posts to read!! Hugs to all of you!
IMG, you make me laugh and smile all at the same time. And yes- I was a difficult child! Strong willed! Still am a bit strong willed ;o)

I think it was onthe couch and flat froggie with the dry skin. Go pamper yourself and buy creme La Mer, or Kiehls face lotion. Both are excellent at hydrating your skin without making it greasy. La Mer is definitely an investment, but you could probably ask for a sample to try it. i warn you that once you do, you won't use anything else. so maybe try Kiehls first, it's great as well.
Poor Bella is still so pitiful. Jsut lying here on the couch next to me. No vomiting in the past 2 hours, hooray!!! Falling in and out of sleep. My poor little angel.
Hope everyone is doing well!!!
