Hi Nanette,
Luck on your MRI I wonder if your sciatic nerve is being pinched somewhere. That is very painful. I hate the sound of the MRI machine's they are so noisy, I can take a CT scan anytime over that. I bet I end up having one too in the near future. I am going to see a pain management dr on Tuesday and trying to locate a new gyn dr for my belly pain. I think I have adhesions and my pain maybe referring to my back and down my legs. I am going to try to find a dr that specializes in endometreosis. Well, let me know what happens. You take care and have a Happy Thanksgiving too!

Thanks Theresa. Ok anyone else get snow? We have between 6 and 7 inches and I think this is the earliest we have ever had snow up here in the Poconos. I am not ready for snow yet. Dh said no matter what he will get me to my MRI today. And then of course, today is parent/teacher conferences which for now are still on and then the automated school district system calls us at 4:45 a.m. to tell us that the conferences are still on today.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!

Hi Nanette,
I just went to my pain management dr for my back pain. I am going in on Dec 3 to have an epidural type of injection to see if it helps my leg and back pain. He said it was unusal to see this type of back problems at my age and not being a smoker. He said it was possible since I had arterial problemswith my heart that the vessels suppling the back could also be narrowed. Great whats next. What type of injection have you had? How did your MRI turn out?

Hi Theresa, my shots were a mixture of cortizone and other steriods and did not do a thing to help me so please think about it before you do it. They were not fun to do and not have work. Also ask your dr about side effects, bec I found out that you can lose your hair and not where I am bald or anything but definitely more strands came out than normal over the summer and when the kids vacuumed for me lots of hair would clog the vacuum. The MRI took two hours and I am paying for it now with having so much pain from laying flat for so long and then the radiologist said not to do it with contrast and I questioned it but he said absolutely not so I hope this dr knew what he was doing bec that is not what my neurologist wanted so I am just waiting to see. They said possibly Wed they will have results but I am pretty sure I won't know anything until next Monday when I go back. I am sorry you have to go through more things since I thought you were starting to feel so good and was so happy for you.

Again, for anyone checking I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving that celebrates it.

Hugs to everyone!

I am asked the dr if they were cortizone shots and he said no. I have to go into the outpatient part of the hospital to have this done. They will partially sedate me and do what is called a Transforaminal injection. I am going to call them any way I spooked myself last night. I have several things wrong with my back and I had the MRI last year for it and that is how I found all of my GYN problems. So now the back, legs and feet are really beginning to hurt when I stand walk and sleep so somethign has to be done. Oh darn I just realize they aren't in the office today closed for the holiday. I will call them. I didn't that a side effect was hair loss, I saw weight gain as one. Just what I need more weight gain.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Stay warm and Safe.

Hi Theresa, sorry you are having trouble again. I have to go for another MRI with contrast since they didn't do it the first time. They finally found something (only after me being in pain for 3 1/2 years). It is either a cyst or I can't spell it but something where your nerves get all bunched up and they will have to remove it surgically. So now I have to wait for approval from my insurance company to find out when they will approve it and then I will be told exactly what it is. Good luck with your stuff.

Talk soon.

Hi Pocono!

Sorry to hear that you may have to go through another surgery. But I am glad that they are at least finding something that they can fix and get you out of this pain you have been having.

Good Luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

Is it a venous malformation that you have? I have heard of this. My sister in law has it and they thought that my sister had it on the brain but hers turned out to be a hemangioma on the brain.
