Hi LeeLee, I would try and call the dr again. Sometimes they get caught up with other er's, they are human too. I had a bad cold 2 weeks after surgery, but, only the cough hurt me, dr said don't worry unless I didn't get better. I got better. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you so much, everyone who posts here. It is amazing that every night I check this site, and get an answer to a question, or support for whatever I was just complaining about 5 minutes ago. Tonight it was my swelly belly and will it ever go away! Yesterday, it was "did too much" and it will be 3 days before I feel OK again. I am grateful for this site, and all of your comments and experience! Hang in everyone!

I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who posted yesterday giving me support on that it is ok to feel bad and post about it. It was greatly appreciated. I have not taken any percocet so far tonight so that is a good sign. We will see by the morning. Sweet dreams to everyone.

Pocono- I am with you in the whole not feeling as good as I "should" department. I'm still dragging and must admit than in the dark corners of my mind I wonder if I'm milking it? Then the pain comes back and I realize I'm not. It's by no means constant must take serious narcotics to feel better pain, more an annoying pain. UGH.
My friends mean well, I know they do. Two of my dearest friends have children the same age as me, and we often get together to chat and let the kids play. Well, we used to before surgery. Anyway... this morning one of them called me and said she and the other friend had decided we were all going to the park and they wouldn't take no for an answer. She said to take Betty with me so she could chase the kids while I sat down and relaxed. (Betty is the girl who has been helping me with the kids). OK nice in theory. The only problem is, as wonderful as a morning socializing with friends sounds, and as beautiufl a day as it was (82!!) and as pretty as the park is- the BENCHES ARE METAL!! OUCH!!> And standing for any real amount of time hurts, it starts to feel like everything is falling out! So I explained that to her, and she said she'd take a camp chair. Again, no comfort there!!! We started talking about going to target to buy a chaise lounge to bring to the park! By that point, I just didn't feel like going. I didn't want to shower and get dressed and honestly- who can just sit there and watch your kids play without wanting to join in? I felt so bad saying I wasn't up to it, all she wanted to do was get me out of the house and it was truly coming from her heart. I think she was a little annoyed, but all in all she said she understood.
Maybe I should have made myself go, but I just didn't feel like it! It meant getting dressed, getting into and out of the car (suburban and it is so uncomfortbale to get out!!) and plus- nothing going on with the bowels in several days, so I wasn't really wanting to get there and all of a sudden have to go, and have to sprint the 1/4 mile to the bathrooms. That would have suked. If I had started to feel bad enough to go home, the kids would have put up a fuss if I wanted to leave after a little while~ they love their time at the park! So betty took them instead and I stayed home, on the couch- shocker-
and watched reruns of law and order, a lifetime movie (sad and scary, as usual) split ends and assorted TiVo shows we never watch but keep forgetting to take off the season pass. I've been watching the worst stuff recently!! I'm queen of realilt show watching, even (gasp) watching Mtv reality shows!! I'm over 21, is that even allowed?
ahhhh- such an exciting life I lead!

Hey Ladies, I am right there with you. I am 6 weeks out today and feel like OK it has been 6 weeks so I should be back to normal but that is not the case. Like PLWC1, it is not horible pain, just annoying most of the time I just take motrin or Tylonol but the Dr did give me a refill on vicodon last week and said I was still within the pain window and to take it if needed. I did this weekend after going to DS's baseball tounament.
By the way, those lawn chairs that come in a bag and are kind of canvas material are pretty comfy. They are much better than metal benches. It is one of the few chairs I can sit in for more than a few mins.
We have to wait 8 weeks for sex. I am sure I will be terrified! Yea rodswife! that is awesome
To all those ladies going to work~ I wish you energy filled ,pain free days!
I also hope the rest of us feel better.
Yall are in my prayers

Pia,
Thanks for your understanding. I feel the same way you do. I start to think am I milking it and then realize I am not. I think you should only have gone to the park if you were truly up to it. Your friends mean well but they don't know how you feel. Maybe next time you can ask them to go only for an hour and then everyone come back to your house with the understanding that you just need to sit or lay down. Even at home I go from laying down to sitting down to standing because there are times I just can't get comfortable because of pain. I am laughing because I also have been watching some of the MTV's shows (even though I think they are stupid) and I too sit there and think why am I watching things meant for much younger women and I hate to say it I have 19 years on you. My kids almost 12 and 14 have gone for walks the past couple of days and I feel so bad that I can't go out with them. I used to be able to out walk them now they would have to constantly wait for me to catch up. I am lucky though because they are both so understanding. Well, it is now 1:45 a.m. and though I fell alseep at about 10:30 p.m. I have been up since 12:30 a.m. so it is time to try again to go back to sleep. Talk to you tomorrow.

Hi Bagpuss calling. I went to the docs this morning. She tested my urine and I do not have a UTI. However there my be some infection in my tum so she has given me some penicillin. I was reading all the posts about feeling giddy and dizzy thinking I was over that. I nearly blacked out in our bathroom last night. Dh was out bowling and my nine year old was asleep. Scary as the room really started to whirl and get black. However doc thinks it is the infection. So you think that I would be taking it easy today? No I decided to walk home about 1 1/2 miles. The sun has been shining and the spring flowers look fantastic. However I'm really tired now.
