Good Morning to all my sisters!!! I just got back from my 2 week post-op appt. I am happy to report my pathology reports showed no cancer or pre-cancer cells! It was the first thing he told me and it was like a giant weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

As for all my other questions, he said my incision was fine. He said it was completely normal and so was the sticky discharge. As far as bleeding goes, he told me to expect it to get worse before it stops. He says as everything is healing inside and needs to exit the body! I was also told, not to worry...I can't rip anything open! Whew! ....that's a relief to know. Cause I sure feel like I'm ripping something everytime I move! And also, I don't think anyone has brought it up yet, but if you are wondering what those hard knots are around your incision...that's where your internal incisions are stitched up! It was driving me crazy trying to figure that out.

So, I was told still no heavy lifting and of course no sex. But, I am allowed to do anything else as I feel like I can do it.

I want to thank all the wonderful women once again for getting me through these past couple weeks. Without all of your support and input I would have been lost!

So happy for you that all went well. Glad to know that things can't be ripped open; kept thinking that was the case here. Hope my visit tomorrow goes as well as yours. Thanks for sharing.

Hi everyone,
I have posted as having a hysterectomy on the 22nd Feb but it now appears according to the surgeons secretary I did not. I have just had vaginal repairs. I was due to have a hysterectomy but for reasons unknown at the moment it did not happen so now girls I feel a bit of a freud.I am told that my healing time will be the same and still not to lift and take it easy. It took me a long time to accept I would be having a hysterectomy and I had talked myself round to positive reasons why it would be better for me. Now I feel confused.
Anyone else heard of this before?
regards to everyone

Dianne.......WHAT??????????

Are you just finding this out? I would be more than confused! I would demand to talk to your doctor immediately to find out if the notes are screwed up with someone elses and if not why you weren't informed of the change. This is your body and I don't know about the UK, but here I had to sign alot of consent forms stating exactly what the procedure was. Not only that, but before the surgery started, I had to state in my own words exactly what was going to happen to me.

I am sooooo sorry for you if they did that to you. And they should be ashamed of themselves!

Spiky Chic ~ I didn't ask about sleeping, because I know why I can't sleep!! I have RLS. Just saw my neurologist and he says I'm having a flare up. There is a great discussion going on right now in the Post op forum called "Why do we have problems sleeping?" Take a peek thru it! Lots of people having trouble sleeping for many different reasons!!

Hi Keri
I thought 1st of all they had muddled my notes up as the girl in the next bed was not having a hysterectomy only repairs and she went down to surgery before me. hey explained to me I was having a hysterectomy but the repairs were to be done as needed. But I can rembember a representative of the surgeon saying the day after surgery everthing had gone well,I would have expected the first thing they would have said was you will be glad to know we didnt do a hysterectomy! The only way I can find out is by being examined which I will, but I have to wait another 3 weeks.
take care
Dianne
