hi sisters, I was sooo happy to not have aunt flo visit!!!! my gf's are all envious, the ones who aren't already hystersisters I feel pretty good, even jumped on the trampoline the other day without it hurting, for the first time since surgery. I'm going back to work on the 19th, not looking forward to it, I've been having a blast at home being the domestic diva, cooking all the time, but I guess we need the $$. Hope all is well with all of you!

Aunt Flo... hahah, you gals are killin' me!!! Yes, she did not visit this month!! Heck, I've been so busy recovering, I had forgotten to notice!! Woo hooo, no Auntie!!!!

Okay, I'm at 6 week mark tomorrow.. I'm feeling a heck of a lot better.. more energy and pushing myself to exericise.. mostly walking and the treadmill. The more I gradually push myself, the better I feel emotionally and physically. It's helping all sorts of symptoms.. Not sure about the sleep yet.. still taking a small amount of xanex.. so we'll see.. and y'all know from my personal experience, when I've done too much.. good 'ol body tells me so.

I'm determined to be in the best shape mentally, physically and spiritually after this is all done.. the journey, heck, it's been one hell of a ride hasn't it ladies!!!! But it does get better eventually it seems. For those who are still suffering, don't give up. My fatigue is lessening a lot each day.

Somehow, when we are in the midst of it, it's hard to be paitient and see a way out. We think it's going to last forever.. I'm so impaitient that I go read threads from long past to see how those ladies are doing just to know where I'm heading.. a few times I read too many posts that scared the daylights out of me.. and another several times, I read things that made me feel so much better..

The most important thing I noticed was how some of the old-timers (not as in age but as in hyster sisters who had their ops long ago) came back to share with us newbies.. it made all the difference in the world for me.. So I'm going to continue sharing this journey and hope to be of assistance later on when I'm all better and healed fully!

It's funny, I hadn't thought much about her either. I was actually on my period when I went into surgery! It was horrible, it had only been 3 weeks since the last and I was having the worst cramping since I was a teen!! I remember telling the doc, if I had any doubts, they were gone! It was my 3rd period since the beginning of the year!! Can't believe....I didn't think about it!!!

I am 6 weeks post-op. Just got my first pelvic exam from my doc. I am all cleared for "normal activities." YAY! I can't wait to try out the new and improved equipment ;-) On a sad note, I got released to return to work for Thursday. I soooooo do not want to give up my afternoon naps, freedom, peace and quiet. Oh well, gotta pay the bills somehow.

I Am Soooo Tired

Ok...Wednesday the 4th will be my 6th week. Had a LAVH on Feb. 21st. overies removed. I go for my checkup on the 6th. I am going to ask why I am so tired, and what I can do. I am on Enjuvia 1.25. Could it be too much? I will let all of you know what she says. I have read about all of the fatigue and it being normal. It is so aggravating. I went back to work at 4 weeks,(Dr. ok) I have to stand a good bit but I am allowed to sit when I get too tired. Otherwise I feel great, and very little discharge, just kind of pinkish brown but not a lot. Any information or suggestions would be helpful. Prayers and hugs to all of you!

Hi guys!
Hooray, no more visits from Aunt Flo! My friends are quite envious too. I can't believe that it's been six weeks! Uh-oh, DH is already giving me THE LOOK...yikes! I'm a little anxious about it, but he says whenever I'm ready (maybe in two weeks). I'm still taking antibiotics to clear up my bladder infection, hopefully it'll clear up soon. For the most part, I'm doing better, just the occasional aches & pains, a bit insomnia, trips to the bathroom 2x a night, and of course, fatigue. I know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel, but it sure takes a long time to get there! I hope everyone is recovering well. Happy Easter!

Overcome Obstacles

We can all get through this! We are called "Pampered Princesses" for a reason ~ everyone takes care of you ... including yourself. I think we are all too anxious to get back to what we think should be normal. But, none of us have the experience to know how we should feel and act. Thank God this is a one-time happening.
I am taking-it-easy with all activities. I returned to work this week at a desk job. It was good to have something to do and keep my mind off recovery problems. Boredom was slowly driving me crazy. One more report about Anna Nicole and I thought I'd scream!
My biggest complaint is the gas I get off and on throughout the day. I'm sure my diet isn't great, but come on, it can get embarrassing. And, it's painful. Do I need to finally get on a regiment of Medimucil?
Finally (and I really mean finally) I'm planning on intercourse "Good Friday". Boy, am I scared. My boyfriend has been patient and keeps asking "how much longer?" I want to be all oooohs and ahhhhs. What if it hurts and I start to cry?
Love hearing from all of you. Remember, we are all in this together ~ across the miles and around the corner.

7 weeks post-op as of yesterday. I actually felt a bit sad about "it" all being done, the dr. visits, the monitoring of my progress, etc. all over and done with. Well, I got over that quickly, thank heavens. Actually today I've felt a few of those twingy kind of cramps on the lower left side of the incision, and I have felt some intermittent burning sensation. It's all good, though. During one of my hot flashes today (Whew!) I sat down at work. I slowly breathed in, feel your diaphragm, and then breathe out through your nose. Do about 5X. It really cools you off in a few minutes. One of the teachers I work w/ at school said that although everything is gone, our bodies have very good memory and know that our body housed the uterus. (Some theory she reads about, play New Age music here....) but what a soothing person to hang with and what beautiful metaphors to make you feel inner peace. Hope everyone has a good week; Holiday week - enjoy your family and friends. Peace, Yomiss

I've been cleared for all normal activities...and DH wasted no time. I have to say that it felt a bit "different" somehow, but not in a bad way. I think I was nervous that I'd feel pain. I didn't, but now I have some aches in the belly. Going back to work next Monday, and I'm sad about that. I didn't enjoy the pain, but I'll miss the oasis I've been in for the last 6 weeks.

Post op update

Hello fellow hister sister alumni!
I am 6 weeks post op today, and I feel much better than I did when I had the surgery. Not a lot of pain in the belly anymore, and when I do have pains, it's mostly gas. Most of the pains that I experience are in my low back area whenever I stand for too long. I am so glad that I have a job where I can sit. I wouldn't know what to do if I had a physically exhausting job. I don't think that I could handle it.

Sorry I am unable to respond to everyone individually, but I am able to relate to you Keri. I also have other "issues" outside of the hysterectomy (the HPV is still in the vaginal cuff area, but luckily it is mild), I will still have to see the doctor every 6 months vs. every year. Oh well. That's better than the every 3 months that I was seeing him. I also have lupus, which is in remission (but I still have complications like joint pain, anemia, low white blood cell count), and I have avascular necrosis of the left hip and the ankle and I have to get my hip replaced eventually. But I could be worse. It would nice to be "normal" though, let me tell you. Did I mention that I am 29 years old?

Yeah, I forgot to mention the post op appt. Talk about uncomfortable. With no cervix and having my vagina shortened, it was not pleasant. The speculum itself busted an adhesion and I ended up spotting for 3 days afterwards. He said to wait another week for sex, but I am scared to death of sex. If a stupid speculum can make me bleed, what is sex going to do to me? Is anyone else scared to have intercourse again? Has the doctor released anyone to have sex again?

I start work next Monday and I am nervous. I didn't really tell anyone and I know that they are going to ask. I am a pretty private person and I don't to share what I went through. Any suggestions?

What about depression? I seem to get bouts of depression. Especially when watching tv. Is anyone still experiencing bouts of depression? I tried Paxil and it seemed to have helped me, but I experienced the side effects of chest pain pretty bad so I stopped taking them and the chest pain subsided. Any suggestions?

Well, I hope all is well with everyone. Take care and I will continue to keep everyone from this website in my prayers.

I really do appreciate this website. It has been a blessing in disguise!

Happy Easter!
