Hey, Martinique and others ~ I am also working thru depression. It's a combination of hormones and knowing you've given up something you can never get back... something that made you special - a woman! I'm hoping sexual activity helps me feel better about myself. But what helps most is the TLC you get from a spouse, child, or pet - even co-workers who really care. Just look back at how you were a week ago and realize what progress you've made. It really pays to "stop and smell the roses" and keep moving ahead.

I agree with Nightie! If I try to see each day as a blessing--and look for the positives--I feel far less depressed. I think I need to be pro-active, not reactive. Does that make me a "control freek"? LOL

OMG did someone say 'gas'? Have such a problem with this, although not constipated as taking daily dose of Movicol. Have reduced this now to half a packet or less each day as I don't want to be on it forever, but I am acutely aware that I do still need to be taking it. Bowel still feels very sensitive and gas worse in afternoon. Aargh..

Gas-X helps a bit. I shudder to think what I'll do when I go back to work on Monday! I'm so used to farting out loud at home.

Feeling Better Every Day

Here I thought only guys talked about gas and it's effects! Metamucil comes in capsules plus calcium. Gonna try that. Ordered a sample online.

What about that swelling from above the incision? Will it ever level off? Are there exercises to strengthen the muscles?

This is Good Friday is many ways. The wait was over - 6 weeks and 1 day. Had great sex today with no pain, little muscle strain, but a little spotting. I was truly scared. We took it real slow at first ... then it was an all-out "I've been patient" affair. He keeps repeating, "no more periods" (typical male wishful thinking).

Hope everyone feels better soon.

No more snow! GO TRIBE!

Saw my surgeon for my 6 weeks postop yesterday. Everything is healing well, but I was told to wait an additional 4 weeks for exercise and sex. I am assuming that the reason I have to wait and others got the green light is because they lifted my bladder? I'm bummed. Was hoping to get the green light. But at least everything looks good and is where it is supposed to be.

Ok, it's 6 weeks today for me. And the DH knows it!! But....I don't have my check up til Tuesday. I told him we should wait for the all clear, but the doc did say 6 weeks. Is everyone waiting for the doc to give them the go ahead or are you going by the 6 weeks?

I just posted a new thread, Granuloma at 6 week checkup. I'm not cleared for sex until after the two week visit from yesterday's little granuloma removal and silver nitrate (didn't hurt).

I'm taking hormones now and I've had some ...thoughts... that rarely cross my mind, regarding sex. For the past many years, things got fun once they got started, but sex would never occur to me otherwise. I even had a dream recently *blush*. I never dreamed about sex before! Are these little pills pumping me up for a hot time? I haven't said anything to my DH, don't want to get his hopes up. I'll let you know how it goes once I get clearance and then back into the swing of things. I'm afraid the first time will hurt. *singing* Like a virgin...

My appointment was also after the strict 6-week mark, and I made DH wait! I told him, and I meant it, that I needed to have the doctor tell me it was okay so I didn't risk infections.

Mochamaven,
My doc said the same thing to me. 10 weeks total. He said tell your hubby "May day, May day" hahaha.
He is really being quite patient!
