Marty - Wow what a website. You have a very good looking family and you're not so bad yourself hystersister! What is a granuloma? I hope you get clearance soon; doesn't look as if you're going to listen to the DR. anyhow. Please take it easy; you have such an interesting life! Now our lives are even better aren't they? No more "crib, gate and rattles - but the playpen still intact." LOL oh and Happy Birthday - the big 5-0....they say life begins at 50.

Does EVERYONE end up with a blobby jelly belly after abdominal hysterectomy? It's not shrinking and I'm freaking. It's from my navel to the incision and hangs over it. I'm not liking this part. My son's girlfriend of 2 years is in nursing school and just finished working in labor and delivery. She wanted to see what a "healed" hysterectomy looked like. She's 21 and very slim... She took a look and was amazed at the pink scar with polka dots from the staples and the old almost invisible 23 yeasr old scar from my son's delivery. But when she saw my new blobby-belly, she said "EWWWW!" Oh thanks a lot!

Went to the doctor for my 8-week checkup, following silver nitrate treatment for granuloma at the 6-week check. I still have some granuloma growth so he added more silver nitrate and said no sex for another week. I don't have another follow up visit, which makes me a little anxious to know if the medication really worked. I may pop in the office and request that he take a looksee just to be sure.

Expecting to get the go-ahead from the doctor today, my DH wanted to go to Chili's tonight for dinner and 2-for-1 margueritas. Think he had plans? Poor guy.

Wow...8 weeks! Doesn't seem like that long ago.

The only thing I still notice is tenderness where the scar is. My husband seems to bump it all the time. I hope that sensitivity goes away soon!! Other than that I think I'm healed. I've been lifting and it doesn't seem to hurt...nothing too heavy yet.

Good luck to all!!!

Hello ladies! Have felt very pleased for the past couple of days as I really feel I have turned the corner and things 'gynaecologically speaking' are healing up. The 'brick in the pelvis' thing I was complaining about seems to have shrunk to a tiny teaspoon-sized thing and I don't feel it thudding around when I move now. Scar area also numb/sensitive like you said, Keri, but don't feel that my jeans (big size though) are hurting it come seven o'clock. Feel way too fluffy though and have gained weight so am getting organised with junking the junk food now!
Have had a sore throat and glands for three days but can't blame the hyster for that!
And my GP has now changed my HRT to something called Estraderm (don't know if it's the same in the States) patches, MX50 and MX75 - have got to clarify things with her as am sure she said I should have the 75 but the pharmacist said she had written me up for both. Will start on the 50 and see. Have to change it every three to four days. Am worried about losing the patch though! Anyone had this? Off to look in Hormone Jungle now!
You girls with tummy tucks are lucky! But I have always understood that you have to be pretty slim to get one and though I lost weight before surgery have now regained some.
