Any April 9 Surgeries?

Boy, did I realize Easter was the day before, but since I'm on a major diet--I won't mind not eating chocolate. I guess I'll just eat a ha ha! Even worse, I'll either be at the castle or just coming home on my birthday. Sounds like a good way to celebrate my 49th birthday Anyway, I figure next year has got to be better. Keep good thoughts and lots of humor (sounds like you DH has that). Take care! Stay in touch.

Yeah, I realized that too about Easter! Luckily I don't have to do bowel prep. I just can't eat after midnight. Thank goodness! What would I do without Cadbury Cream Eggs on Easter???

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Hi ladies..nice to hear from you both. The clock is begining to tick a little quicker for all of us. Please enjoy those Cadberry eggs for me. I live in California and we have See's Candies here. I love their Chocolate/Walnut Butter Cream Eggs. I'm passing this year. I've lost 20lbs and hope to loose 10lbs before the surgery. That only leaves me 130lbs to go. WOW!! But it was fun getting here. Guess you figured--I'm a chunky one. I just scheduled my first blood donation (for surgery) next week and I'm having an MRI on Friday to check my liver. Drs found a cyst and diagnosed me with Fatty Liver Disease. So say an extra prayer for me, I don't really want to deal with a liver biopsy on top of the TAH BSO. Take care sisters and I'll keep in touch.

Good luck on your procedures! We lived in California for 5 years (San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara area, and I SO miss See's chocolates! Seriously they're better than Godiva. Yum... I wonder if they have a website...

April 9th too for me is the Big Day

Hello I'm Denise from Maryland. I have my surgery scheduled for April 9th too. I'm 37 years old and have three kids, 21, 13 1/2 and 11. I have had my fair share of GYN issues over the past 20 years, and have finally come to the decision to do this. I'm scared only of the sexual disfunction thing happening the most as I dont think my husband (we have been married for 14 years) would be happy if anything negative changed in that department. I've also made another big decision, while I'm under having the hysterectomy I'm also going to get my tummy tucked. I have a horrible scar from another surgery and lots of loose skin on the tummy. So what better time to get it fixed. All the pre arangements are actually coming along smoothly so at least there will be several things good coming out of this time of recovery. I also schedule a date with my husband to go to this place called Lest Dish- its where you can go and make several meals (we are doing 18 dinners) in one evening and then you come home and freeze them, so when you need a dinner you just thaw, cook and serve. I'm excited about learning from everyone and recovering together.
Have a Great Day

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Hi guys
I have high BP and I'm on meds but I talked to my surgeon and he wants me to have a full cardiac work up...does anyone else need this done too? Does anyone know what else is done during this???
I'm so busy planning for April 9th, that my husband came home lat night and said he wants to take me away (somewhere in FL) the last weekend of the month to relax.....hes such a sweetie, he said I need to stop thinking and worrying and maybe a weekend away would help.
One thing I did was go buy a pretty notebook with pockets, I printed some info from this site and I started taking notes so to better get a grip on far I have a page for ? for my GYN, ? for my Plastic surgeon(since im haveing the tummy tuck), what to take to the hospital, what to do before I go in, ? in the hospital, pain management ?'s and important phone numbers. Even though its alot to think about and do, somehow writing it all down and then I can close the book and try to let it go......Hope this helps you too.
Have a Great Day

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Hi ladies, I am an April 9th sister too! I am 29 with 2 kids (5 year old girl and 2 1/2 year old boy). My husband and I have been married for 8 years and I have been suffering for 11 years. My very first pap was abnormal (mild dysplasia) and for the next 4 years I had the fine pleasure of visiting the GYN every 3 months- never had a normal pap in all that time. I suffered biopsies and the freezing of my cervix (this is what finally got me a "normal" pap). In the years following, I had my two babies (the first was conceived easily, the second took quite a while), and progressively had worse and worse cramps that began stretching through the entire month and heavier and heavier bleeding. Being a military spouse, my medical treatment was not the greatest and definitely not consistant. I was rotated through all different types of birth control- some of which made me bleed nonstop other made the bleeding stop altogher (not such a bad thing) but could not be restartetd for many months. I finally got to see a specialist off of a military installation and immediately was scheduled for TAH. My GYN was horrified that I had essentially been swept under the carpet for so many years. I have not been scoped or tested in anyway- so I only know my diagnosis, at this point, from my dr's educated guess. I am sure I will be very relieved that it is all over with when, well, it's all over with. LOL!

Looking forward to sharing this experience with all of you! Best of luck!

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Hey, ladies, nice to meet you all under such unpleasant circumstances! Iceydweller, how do you like Moody? We're at Cannon AFB, and it recently came to our attention that Moody has a bunch of openings that might be sent our way... Is that a good thing for us or not? I definetely know how you feel with the military health care system. Any base without full medical facilities is almost a blessing, because then you can get a referral downtown.

I am so jealous of that tummy tuck!!! Ugh, why didn't I marry a rich guy? Just kidding.
