Any April 9 Surgeries?

da37, I guess since I had labs done just a little over a month ago for my last surgery he's not to worried? Plus my Cardiologist did a full work up on me last week and so did my FP Doc. So I guess if there was anything wrong they wouldn't have cleared me, right? I hope. LOL. I have also had a stress test, echo test and a bubble test (heart) and a full metabolic work up. This I believe is just a formaility. Although my heart rate at the time of surgery could be an issue i am finding out, I have to keep calm and keep my heart rate down since it runs on the high side, yeah righ. it will be 150 with my luck.

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Getting closer each day. I'm glad to stop the waiting. I agree (even though I haven't had the surgery) that the waiting has got to be the hardest. I'm off to the hospital this morning for what the hospital calls a pre-operative clinic. They called me in early because they want to discuss and check my liver functions. My hospital is an hour away--so off I go. You all take care today.

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Hi April 9th sisters
I wanted to tell you guys about an item a firend recommended to me for recovery its called the bed lounge, you can go to their web site to learn more, she said it was a great item to have and it made her very comfortable during a very hard time. I ordered one since my only other option was to bring a huge lazy boy chair in my room.... I'm feeling a little crazy, we just got home from our mini vacation to AZ, the Grand Canyon was beautiful to see, I'll hold that image as well as my children in my mind as I
m being put to sleep. I still have so much to do shoppping, cooking, cleaning, packing, and preparing for Easter.....oh lord its going to be late nights ahead. Hope everyone else is hanging in there.

Any April 9 Surgeries?

Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered one too! I also have a lazy boy in another room. My bedroom is too small to bring in a chair and I think I'll be in bed a little bit (ha! ha!) Only a few more days. I'm going for my pre op lab work today, then on Saturday I go to the hospital to get my pretty red bracelet for pre admit. Off to work I go for just a couple days. Take care to all of you!

I had my pre-op today and doc said no bowel prep and no PCA just a shot for pain every 15mins I don't like that at all. Anyone else just getting shots verses the PCA? Also, I decided to have my ovaries and tubes and appendix removed too, that makes 7 total organs. I think tubes are counted as oragans?

Any April 9 Surgeries?

I had my preop yesterday also. No bowel prep for me and no PCA. I'll be getting pain meds every 3-4 hours--a little scary, but they must have their reasons, so I'll go with it until the pain starts. I have a fairly high pain tolerance, but this is all so unknown. I told my husband to make sure he wears his cologne so I can smell him when I wake up. Just a little comfort for me! I'll know I'm ok when I get the smell of him close to me. Silly! Today is my last day of work. I wish I were preparing for a 2 month cruise instead of surgery. I feel like I'm preparing for a long trip--buying new clothes, stocking up on animal food, packing, etc....Well, off to work I go. Have a great day to you all.. We are almost there
