Hello sisters! Thanks for the laughs and great information.

hothyssiefit, I really appreciate you sharing with me the info. about waiting 3 months to take estrogen and beginning progesteron upon leaving the hospital because of the endo. And I will check out the vitamin cooktail in the harmone jungle. Many sisters haven't responded as to waiting for the endo. to die off for several months before beginning harmone theraphy. My doctor wants me to wait 6 months? But I will ask him about beginning the progesteron sooner, like you. However, it does make me feel good that your doctor feels that you need both estrogen and progesteron to keep endo. away. Any input or feedback by any sister on this would be appreciated.

Congratulations to all of you who have returned to work or are about to. Bless you for accomplished determination! I couldn't do it at this point. Please just remember to take it slow. gntl_brz, may we all learn to say no when we can't do something like you. I give you a lot of credit. Continue to listen to your body. Angelika, you should be sore and will be sore for awhile. Even though you had a vaginia hyst., you still had MAJOR SURGERY!! Don't be so hard on yourself. Try to relax, and enjoy this time to heal that you have. You are normal.

That stretching/pulling/burning sensation is still present with me and is still so very annoying and frustrating. (Sorry if I keep re-iterating this but at times it makes me feel like I want to explode.) And my emotions are up and down too. I think that we are all "normal,"
and this is what happens. We will all recover soon, but it takes time.

Thank you, again, to all of you sisters for making me feel "normal." And most of all for making me feel that I am not alone on this road called recovery. I am so happy that I found you. Thanks for each of you being you........... Anxiously awaiting to hear updates -- much love and hugs to all of you!!)

Angelika, I have not had any pain until today. I had my TVH on the 27th of Feb. I am due to go to my 6 week check up this upcoming Tuesday. I have had pain just above the belly button today for the first time. I am also experiencing pain in my ribcage. The pain in the ribcage tells me I have done too much. I had a really serious bout of vertigo last week and this is really my first week that I have felt "normal" I am leary about returning to work but I don't think there is a reason for my doctor to postpone it. I will find out on Tuesday.
I went to the Easter Parties at the PPCD class today. My little 3year old student gave me a big hug and kiss and told me he really missed me. How can I not go back to work???
I have been very anxious about alot of things and was told today by an internist that I just need to stop being so anxious about stuff. Yeah right! However, I only have 6 weeks left of school. I can do this. I guess I am having a pity party for myself today.
Thank you everyone for listening.
This website is great.

Hi girls,
Went to the doctor today. I seem to be healing just fine. Unfortunately, I'm still getting tired in the afternoon. I've been semi- released--basically I just need to take it easy & not jump into things to quickly. I hope all you ladies are doing well & taking care of yourselves. Blessings to all!

Hi Angelika,

I am at 5 weeks and 3 days! Yes, at 4 weeks I had a rough few days. Last Tuesday and Wednesday were awful. I felt sore, exhausted, like a mack truck ran over me. My surgery was an lavh, as well. The surgery itself was good. My recovery went very well as far as healing quickly. The worst part for me was the exhausting, tired feeling and crampy legs and bum. I felt like I should have been doing a lot better at 4 weeks and I wasn't. It made me very discouraged. Take heart, that seems to be the week that things turn around. I did a lot today and tonight I am wiped out. It is normal though. Just take your time and rest, next week will be better

lavh 2/27/07 kept both ovaries

Hi all,
Reading all the posts is such a wonderful part of my day and my recovery. I just can't express how much you all have come to mean to me.

Runplenty-oh my gosh, the pant's experience is hilarious , something that being with your girlfriends makes it even more enjoyable. Thanks for sharing that with us!! I am often loosening my pants too when I am sitting-at church, in a restaurant etc. Next time I do, I will probably start laughing just thinking of your experience. We returned home today, a day early(it was actually DH's suggestion-he's behind on some studying and wasn't able to get as much done on the trip-I didn't end up being the one to suggest it and get labeled as the wet blanket-yeah!)(I did enjoy my margarita last night!-if I'd know we were coming home today I would have had two!)

It's so strange-all week I was thinking how I really wanted to be home...then when we get to leave, I kind of wanted to stay...Mixed up brain and emotions continue..... I definitely can see I have more stamina today than earlier this week-so there is definite progress. I did get to WalMart and got my one size larger pants for my return to work on Monday. I refuse to get more than one pair of pants because I hope that in a couple weeks with more activity and starting to watch food types, that I can fit into some of my regular stuff. At least I'll be comfortable and they have some room for the afternoon swelly belly!
I too am pretty stressed about the return to work-I know that it will take at least the first week to get back in the routine. Hopefully , I can appear to be "with it" even though inside I might be freaking out. (There's always the ladies room if I need to have a quick cry)I do yoga too(not the extreme stuff) so sometimes just doing the slow breathing and a prayer/meditation gets me through the panicky feelings. Just knowing that we are all thinking of each other will give me additional peace and strength.

gntl_brz- I use soy supplements, Vit E, B50, Vit C daily and that has helped alot. I plan to use the vaginal creams if needed (if I develop dryness etc.) I also use coping skills like breathing, cool liquids, cool cloth on my neck , wearing layers of clothing -especially cotton so I can take things off and on as my thermostat changes. I would offer a word of caution about meds (such as the one for seizures) that may have potential side effects or risks that outway the bothersome nature of the hot flashes. The hot flashes are annoying but not life threatening. I will be thinking of you as you and your MD discuss and decide treatments. Trust your judgement-you will know what is right for you.

Redhead56-so glad you got relief from your headaches!
Sometimes I have to remind myself of what daily life was like before the hyst (mine was prolapsed with my bladder) I was walking like a duck for a couple months, felt like I had to pee constantly. When I think of that, then I see that things really are much better..even though I'm not at the finish line yet.

Olivegrove-so glad to hear from you!!

Angelika-be gentle with yourself. We are all still on the emotional roller coaster. Today driving home from the market, Out of the blue-I got nostalgic about my folks(both have passed a few years ago) and started crying. It's not unusual for me to think of them but the emotional response was intense. Each day is still a bit of a surprise isn't it? Hang in there, I'm thinking of you.

zucru4-I saw your sign off-do you have a sheltie too?

Today's ride home was long and pretty uncomfortable, I think I did too much lifting as we packed stuff up-I'm off to a hot shower, motrin and bed.

Take care sisters!!

I am 5 weeks since my TAH. This week has been the hardest since early recovery.

Yesterday I experienced my first real mood swing. I had 3 sobbing jags throughout the day.

Today we took a day trip to do something fun before going back to work. After lunch and one stop at a winery, I started feeling like I was leaking urine. Sure enough, it was just drip-drip-dripping, like a leaky faucet.

I was able to hold it in for the hour ride home and now when I'm sitting. But when I stand up/sit down/walk, I feel it.

Called the nurse this afternoon, and she said she would email the doctor, who is out of town. She said I might not hear back until Monday. So I guess I'll spend the weekend sitting here on the couch. I can't do much with urine squirting out of me.

This is gross. I'm really down about it today. My worst fear in all of this was bladder problems. If I have to deal with this now, I'm going to be really upset.

Crowenmonster--Please don't be upset. Hopefully it is something that can easily be fixed. I was having a little leakage & it turned out to be I had a UTI. I'll keep you in my prayers. Keep your chin up & smile.

Happy Easter!

Teacher30--Thank you for your words. I have prayed for you all week. I am so afraid of losing it in front of my kids. Maybe that would actually shock them into better behavior for the last six weeks. ;-)

Ellen--glad you made it home. Someone told me hot flashes were "short private tropical vacations." If that is the case, then we need to get to have margaritas everytime we go on the trip. Also, what is it about going to the store and crying jags? I sat in the Walmart parking lot and cried for 20 minutes before I could get out. My grandfather has been gone since I was 10, and I just couldn't get him out of my mind and how I want him here for my wedding.

To my anonymous donor, thank you for my crown jewel. This site has been my rock, and you ladies my best support. May the grace of this weekend's significance touch you all. He made us each to walk this walk to become stronger. You can do all things through He that strengthens you.
