Why do you have to wait 2 months? I caved last night and gave into sex. I am 6 weeks tomorrow and don't go back until the 25th of this month. Light spotting this morning but I think evrything is ok. Most of the sisters said this happened afterwards.

Hope your day goes okay. Explain to the Dr about work and maybe they can work around your schedule.

Hello Sisters!!!! I've been cleared - no more restrictions on anything! Dr said I am 98% healed, there are a few more stiches left in me that he could see - bit just take it easy, listen to my body and rest when I need to.!!! I can make love to my husband again!!!!! I can exercise, I can lift my grandbaby!!!! Oh - he increased my Premarin from 0.3 to 0.625 - ??? And I have an infection, he put be on Flagyl again...
O.K. - that is all fine and happy - but here is reality - the internal exam the Dr. did - killed... I am more tired from getting up and going to Dr's than I have been in a while and I am definately ready for a nap! I have already taken 2 mortin cause I am cramping and spotting. Thus reality!
But - I can do anything, when I feel like I can - but that won't be today! So much for being released... Well, maybe the sex part - my DH was at the appointment with me and the Dr. had not released me yet. When Dr. was pressing on my Swelly Belly and it really hurt and then he did his internal, I turned to DH and said - we are NOT having sex today! (LOL)
Ellen54, thank you for all your sleep suggestions. When I do not take the ambien I just toss and turn over and over again. I am not afraid of becoming physically addicted, it is the emotional addiction I am afraid of, so I will definately try your suggestions.
I am going to nap now - how come we have no problem with daytime naps, it is the night time sleep I have problems with.
Will fill you all in more later with the other details (Dr. answered my whole list of questions, he actually took my list and wrote his answers right on my piece of paper - I adore my DR!!!) I hope the rest of my Sisters had somewhat of a good day!
Love Yous - Zella

Yeah Zellabella!! It is very liberating to be 'realeased'. I liken it to being a captive animal waiting to get out into the real world again. Or at least, that is how I felt before that appointment. We had our surgeries on the same day; all but I had the lavh surgery. This has been one of my sleepy days too. Our dd is off for spring break this week so we have been enjoying some at home time. Normally, we would be at the beach house for spring break but not this year. It has actually been nice to just be at home. I thought I would never say that after all of the weeks enclosed due to the recovery. Good luck in the rest of your healing! That 6 week check up is the real turning point for many of us. Once your infection is cleared up, I am sure you will be feeling 100%.

Ain't it grand to be free! If it doesn't rain very much I am going to mow my grass (on a rider) this weekend. My Dr. would not let me even do that. I could drive my car but not my lawn mower, go figure. I had a much better day today, but then I only worked a half day. I spent the other half at another oral surgeon to make sure my jaw was not fractured as I am doing surgery again on Wednesday and did not want the hospital to prop my jaw open if it was fractured. I was cleared of the fracture! YEAH. tomorrow I have a full day again, a very busy one. When I was in the hospital and could not sleep they gave me benadryl. I continued to use it at home at night to help me sleep through the night. I took 2. I kept telling the Dr. and I told her what I was taking and she said to just continue that. Okey dokey! I took 2 last night so that I would sleep all night.

Hi Girls!
Zella--Congrats to you on being released. How wonderful for you!
Viteacher--Please be careful on the lawn mower even though its a rider--watch those bumps! I'm keeping you in my prayers with all of your injuries. I'm so happy to hear that your jaw isn't fractured.
Well I have a very busy weekend & next week ahead of me. A wedding for my cousin with the whole family coming in & my sister & nephew coming in from Alaska will be spending the week with me. I'm sure I'm going to be tired after we get to go shopping, zoos & whatever else they have planned for me. Hopefully my belly won't swell up to bad. Have a wonderful weekend with your families & count each & every blessing that God has given you -- even the blessings that you only know by names on a computer screen--I know that I do.

Hi girls,

Sorry I was away from the computer...was on a roller coaster of emotions yesterday, lashing out again. It makes me feel so bad when I let it out on my loving partner. It is scaring me and wonder if I will ever be the same again! Talk about the menopause! I really want things to get back to normal..just hope my ovaries are working.

Teacher30 I know what you mean with reference to the exercises they recommend during one's recovery...I tried one of exercises and felt very sore afterwards. I decided not to do anymore until my 8 weeks is over. I have just concentrated on the brisks walks and yesterday I did one hour and 20 mins and I felt great. It really is a brilliant and painless exercise.

Me113 I find that rather strange that you still can't have sex for another two months. I was told I can have sex once I feel ready after the six week period. Maybe have another word with your doctor?

Ibeshoppin In the first two weeks after the op I had very painful breasts! It actually hurt to touch them but they are fine now. It sounds as if you are on the up now...that must be a lovely feeling for you.

Ellen54 Yes, I am coming to realise that the golden wonder of six weeks is more like several months before we are fully better and I am slowly coming to terms with it now. It would be nice if the doctors were more honest with us from the start but that is doctors for you! I think you have done really well getting through the week...you deserve a well rested pampered weekend. Spoil yourself.

Thinking of your all girls...will look at next page of messages now.

Take care.

Zellabella that is fantastic news...I am so happy for you. It's good to know you have healed well. Can I ask how they get to examine the outside of the womb and other organs to check the stitches? It sounds somewhat painful and I am not looking forward to it! I really can understand that if your tummy still hurts it may not be the right time for sex just yet....as it is quite a physical thing isn't it? Smile.

I can see why you are nervous about being addicted to the sleeping pills emotionally....if you can't sleep it can cause further emotional problems. If you take them short term I am sure you will be fine...what Ellen54 suggested sounds good to me.

Bless your doctor for writing all the answers to your list of questions...that is so sweet of him.

Momorewaiting I hope you have a lovely restful weekend. Chill out.

Viteacher please be careful when you use the lawn mower...you have had an accident and I worry that you may do more harm than good doing the lawn mowing. I am so pleased your jaw is not fractured. Please be careful love.

Zucre...I hope you have a lovely time with your family...don't be worried to say when you need a rest. I am sure they will understand.

Well take care my sisters.

Good morning!
Just a quick note before I head off to work. It's Friday-Yeah-I survived the first week!! I do love being with everyone at work but I am exhausted by early afternoon. I have been trying to do the best I can to just do what needs to be done. No housework this week, only washed the clothes needed for work, made sure I ate lunch (I often had skipped or just ate crackers in the past to save time) , I got dinner from the cafeteria as I left each night and when I got home just got into my comfy stretch clothes and watched a TV show and then got to bed. This weekend I have nothing major planned and will just relax and catch up with some home stuff. Still needing Motrin once or twice a day for backache, low front ouches sometimes-nothing major. The vaginal drainage(yellow/tan) has all of a sudden totally stopped -I guess that means all the stitches in the vaginal wall must have dissolved.

teacher30-I have been thinking of you-I hope the MD appts went ok.

zucru4-have a wonderful visit with your family. It's good you are at this point in your recuperation so you can enjoy it more than if it was a few weeks ago.

angelika- the MD checkup is just a regular pelvic exam-the MD is very gentle with the speculum and the manual exam but when I went at 4 1/2 weeks(cos I was going away) I still had vaginal wall stitches that were healing so it was uncomfortable but not painful. I was a bit sore afterwards. I think since you aren't going until week 8 it will be not too bad for you. I was also a lot more tense than I normally would have been just cos I was worried about how it might be.

me1131- because each of us has had slightly different surgeries and for different reasons, I'm sure that the limitations your MD has for you , have to do with the procedures that were done. I think I saw in your note that you had a radical procedure. That may have been more extensive looking around, stitches etc. Trust the recommendations of your MD -they know what they did and why they recommend post op guidelines. The time will pass and you will get released when it's right for you.
Hang in there!

Zellabella-one other thing I thought of with the sleep issues. I did find that I had to stop daytime naps. They seem to take away that "drowsy edge" that helps us drift off at night. If I need to rest during the day, I can lay down for about 15-20 min but don't let myself go to sleep. (Of course after the surgery I did take sleep naps during those first few weeks but also then had to stop the sleep naps to get back to decent night sleep patterns) I'll be thinking of you. It will get better.

Guess this wasn't such a quick note after all...

Take care sisters-Hope your day goes well!

Hello again everyone,
I'm not sure what day it is for most of you, but it is Friday night in Australia and I've just finished my first 4 days back at work. Needless to say, it's been a few days since I've checked in on how everyone is going - don't know where all the time has gone!
My 6 week check was last week, and thankfully, everything was OK. My problem was evidently nothing more than fibroids so that was a relief.
I was surprised that the specialist said he'd see me again in 2 years with another ultrasound. Has anyone else been told that? And perhaps you might have some suggestions as to why? Although I kept ovaries, I thought that the hyster would be the end. Obviously there is still a lot for me to learn and understand.
Anyway, the work situation is as we would all expect - and as much as I was glad for the change of scenery, it is true that once you step in the door, everyone expects that you are able to do everything just as before. 4 days of no lunch breaks - why would I expect anything different?
And the gym routine that I had got myself into has now reduced to only 3 days a week. I was really starting to enjoy the daily visit. I'm now ready to move on from the weights and cardio, and have tried aqua aerobics which felt so good. I'm going off to the physio next week to get some other suggestions - don't want to push it too much, but I really need to regain that energy and stamina.
On the whole, all is good, so I encourage you all to continue to do what you feel is right - and slowly, just little by little.
Enjoy the weekend everyone, and keep well.
