Hello Sisters.....I had my TAH on Feb 12th, and it went very well. I had two previous c-sections so I was prepared in a way for this pain....but it was a little more severe and still bruised a lot. I got up and walked the very next morning to get the process started...and it helped a lot. Gas pains were a bit irritating, but that passed...NO PUN INTENDED.....and the bandages came off the next day with the staples. I only stayed from Monday morning to Wednesday morning and then was happy to go home. Hope everyone recovers as fast as I seem to be.....and I have to say that this was the best thing I ever did. No more bleeding, headaches, hot flashes or bowel problems....it seems that my body didnt' want my uterus anymore. Good luck to everyone out there and make sure you do the best thing for you in the end.

2 weeks today & feeling pretty good - YEAH!!! Have a really nice swelly belly going - looks like I'm about 6 months pregnant ;( What is everyone wearing? The only thing that remotely is going to fit over this belly is drawstring pants - how long until I might fit into my regular pants? DH going to take me on a mini-trip today to see how that goes, I'm so excited to get out of the house I don't care where we go

Hello everyone. I had surgery on February 13, 2007. I feel great today. Today I venture out on my own behind the wheel. I feel great but friends and love ones keep telling me I need to slow down. I have always been a very independent person and going slow is driving me crazy. Hugs to everyone and have a great day.

Hello ladies,
I had my tvh on Thur. feb. 15 and all went well. The hospital is small so I got a room to myself and a lots great care from the nurses. I was up and around the next day, walking the halls .
They kept me pain free. The only conplaint I have was the food.I'm a vegitarian so food was not great.
They releasted me on Sat. I live 70 miles from home. The car ride wasn't too bad. Glad to get home. I tried to eat light, but I did suffer from a lot of gas. Like an old sailor man!! Anyone remember Animal House???LOL
I have a wonderful DH who has been great. I drink a lot of smoothies, salads. My first Bm was the pits but just took some stool softener I'm regular now!!! I did use the swiffer vac and wash the kitchen floor. I just couldn't stand it any more, I just hate crumbs on my floors.
I'm doing a littIe cooking , Dh gets pots and pans ready and I chop and cook. I have not been going out walking much all we get here is rain, rain and more rain. We got a lull in the two week storm today and went for a walk have
Stop taking pain meds two days. Now I just use advil. I only wish everyone had it so easy. Wishing all of you a great recovery. surfer

Had LSH on Feb 16, and am doing well. Off Vicodin, and am just feeling achy, especially if I stand up too long to try to do too much. Still can't sleep comfortably on my side for any length of time. Had great hospital experience. Ate a lot of apples & Bran Chex when I got home, so no problem with first BM. Pain of coughing was GREATLY minimized by having DH press hard on a pillow over my abdomen. Very glad I had it done!

Hi, I just found this message board. I had a TVH on Feb 14th. Doing pretty good, just trying to get my energy back. Had a question...every time I go "potty" right before I'm done it hurts so bad it feels like I'm trying to pee out a rock. Is this normal or should I ask my doctor about a UTI? Still pretty sore which is frustrating because I thought by 2 weeks I would be feeling like my normal self again, but I guess just because I don't have a big cut in my stomach doesn't mean I didn't have major surgery right?
