Hey all...
I went to the Dr this morning. Apparently I have some granulation...?? My stitches are rubbing together and causing some bleeding. But he said other than one spot that is a little "raw" the rest of my cuff line looks good. The incision line on my stomach isn't completely closed in one area, so that's why I still have some seepage at the top.

Thank you for letting me worry on here!!

Hi everyone. I had my surgery on the 13th. After years of extreamly long an very painful periods. An several doctors say well there are worse things then having long painful periods. I finally went an seen my MIL doctor. The same doctor that delivered my DH an all his siblings. I went to him first time Jan of 06. Had my yearly an explained about the periods. Now must tell you that after having all my children I had my tubes clamped an this is when the periods got even longer. He suggested I try birth control pills. Well I am not a fan of pills, an can't remember all that. So instead I tracked my periods for a year. Then when I went back in this jan 07. I showed him my calander. An got my exam. An he said well lets see what the insurance company says just dont go to disney world k. So 2 days later I was scheduled for a hysterectomy an bladder sling surgery. I went in an all was good. I woke up fron surgery an was not hurting too bad. I had a hematoma come up at one of the incision sites. An by that night it had gotten to 10cm. Before the doctor came in an opened it back up an let it drain out. Now that has been open ever sence. I keep it bandaged an change it daily. But you talk about pain. I was so bruised because of it. I mean all up my side an down into my leg . An not the be graphic but even down into my vagina. Honestly didnt know somethings could swell so big. I was so bad I could not sit up at all for 5 days an could not close my legs. Everything seemed to be going so well.Other then this. THey kept me til the next day at about 1pm. I got home an i could not stop hurting . I felt sick. An when i tryed to take the meds I threw them back up. So I called the doc an told him an by this time my temp was rising. They had me go to the er. An he admitted me an changed my meds said I was allergic to the perk's. Then they put me on darvosets100 mg. I stayed over night an the next day they sent me home but when I got home the darvosets made me feel drunk an made me have crazy moments. Like I told my DH that my calier bone was coming out. An I felt my blood vein an was like its a clot an was seriouly freaking out. So I stopped taken them on a sunday night mind you 4 days post op. By 9 am monday morning I was shaking like a crack head from the pain. They brought me into the office an gave me vicodins for pain an ibprhen for muscle. I came home an took like 4 vicodins out of the script. No not all at once .lol But then started to suffer from bad consipation. I was a week out an still no bm. Took 2 fleet enemis an 3 days before I had a half way decent bm. So sence a bout 2 weeks out I Have been doing it with no pain meds at all other than the ibprhen an tylenol.. Been doing good except the lower back aches. an started with a very light brownish show. an my pelvic area tender maybe from all the bruising . Anyone else have a hematoma or server bruising. I know if any of you are like me you just cant wait to get back to 100%. fast enough. That is why at 2 weeks I had to start doing light house work. I mean dont get me wrong dh tryed hard. But we have 4 children under 8. An I hate my house to be cluttered. But look forward to no more aunt flo.

I feel so bad for you. Why were you discharged so early? I had mine on Feb. 13 & stayed in the hospital until the 16th. I hope your home experience will be a lot better. Take care of yourself.
P.S. I think I would have another Dr. do my follow up care.

Finally healing

Hello Sisters.
I had a Total Hysterectomy on February 13. Yes, Megtoriaus, I also had two hematomas(my. Dr. called them blood clots). My staples were removed after one week & then I had to have sutures for 10 days. After going in every day for two weeks to let the Dr. change my packing, I feel like I am finally on my way to recovery. I still have one hole that is draining strictly plasma at this point. I feel like I'm pushing myself too hard(kind of hard headed about not doing housework also). Today, I took a 4 hour nap & some days I feel like I could go, go, go. I will definitely stay in touch. Please keep me in your prayers.

Well, I was back at the hospital today. I'm so tired and frustrated. I've been crying all day. Yesterday my post op check up went pretty well, thought I was doing ok and on my way to recovery. Then yesterday afternoon I noticed a small bump forming along my incision line. It started turning white. After several hours..(11:30 last night) it Ruptured. It literally GUSHED fluid out of my incision. I kinda panicked...but it only lasted 3-4 minutes (constant gushing), and then slowed to a little drip. I called the ER, they told me that If I didn't have any pain (which I didn't) and had no fever (which I didn't) it could probably wait til morning. I went to see the Doctor this afternoon. He told me I had a Seroma that had ruptured, and to make sure everything was out of that "hole" he needed to open up my incision. I now have a Pen size hole in my incision that has to be packed twice a day with gauze (don't let them fool ya, this hurts, ask for some lidocaine). However, when he was digging around inside of me with the q-tips, he apparently was able to go down through the fascia (the layer of fatty stuff between your skin and your abdominal cavity), which means mine is no longer in tact. The GYN doctor wanted to take me straight to the OR, so, I went into almost hysterics (I've already had 2 surgeries in a 3 week period, I don't think I could physically OR emotionally handle another one), and he called in the General Surgeon. The GS decided to basically put me on bed rest for a while to give my abdomen more time to heal. On the up side, I didn't have to have surgery today. On the down side, I now have a pretty good chance of getting a hernia that will require another surgery a few months down the road. I'm so frustrated. I'm having a total pity party. I just want to get better. To FEEL better. <Sigh> Thank you for being here for me to vent to.

Shdsgrl - how awful - my thoughts & prayers are with you - you deserve a pity party with a full marching band too!!!

Day 24 postop & I actually am wearing a pair of jeans. I haven't worn anything other than drawstring sweat pants since surgery so am taking this as a HUGE milestone. My ds turned 16 today so maybe its his good luck that I'm blessed with this day. I hope all other ladies are recovery well - I live in MN so today's weather is in the 40's which is like a heat wave for us

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I am having good and bad days, so I guess this is normal. Went to the mall today and walked for about a mile before I had to call it quits. I was a bit overzealous and put on a pair of jeans. WOW did that hurt when I got home. I am swollen and feel like I am about 3 months pregnant. Had a TVH on 2/13, and this was the first attempt at real clothes....I don't think I'll be doing that again soon...
