Hi Girls!

Well I did it...Finished a full 40 hour work week! I am really proud of myself too. Don't get me wrong, it was TOUGH! I too, had a cuff infection Sherri - It landed my princess butt back in the castle for 3 1/2 days. But all was well as I did not need another surgery-just IV antibiotics and 14 days of them at home. Then we had the week from heck at work. Tons of puppies w/ serious URI's, older dogs at their end, and to finish my week my mom-in-law's dog got out and wound up at the shelter. Lucky for him they called me @work and I was able to "spring" him with my "connections". LOL! All in all though things went well. Just EXTREMELY tired at day's end. At the beginning of the week, I came home and napped for 2 hours! Then this am, I slept untill 8:00. First time for that in about 6 months. I am finally feeling like this was a good decision. I am 90% pain free for the first time in years! (Never thought that would happen) Anyway, enough of my dribble -- Hope this weekend finds you all a little better. I thought with our 80 degree temps earlier in the week that spring was here, but the snow outside my window this am tells me differently! Have a super weekend all -- Will check back with you all soon! Love & hugs, Dianne

WOW Ladid912! You must be exhausted after that long week. I'm lucky to be self-employed so I can control how much I work which since the surgery has been about 10 hours a week

Feeling pretty good though and can relate to Mother Nature teasing about bringing spring. My dh just set up my portable greenhouse so plan to spend the weekend getting my seeds planted so they are good to go for the end of May planting - can't wait

I think I mastered doing everything I used to do (slower) except lifting (I'll wait for the 6 wk check), sleeping on tummy & of course sex! Its funny how quickly my family stopped doing things once they saw me handling them - they darn near left skid marks

Hope everyone is on the right path to healing & feeling better each day. Heidi

Hi all, I had TAH on Feb 13th. Also had fallopian tubes removed and a large amount of scar tissue removed from my bladder (probably from the previous surgeries I had trying to avoid the hysterectomy, including myomectomy and uterine ablation). Love being a girl, but it sure ***** sometimes. :-) I just want to thank all of you because your posts have been reassuring to me. I have never posted myself - I read all of your posts and am reassured by them. So thanks to you all for giving of your time to help and encourage others. I have not had any real problems and I went back to work 2 weeks ago. I am a bit of a workaholic and couldnt sit still. I am at my computer for most of the day and would not recommend going back to work so soon for anyone who could not sit for the majority of their work day. I am very tired by the end of the day and have a had a couple of days when I felt like I overdid it. Oh, and there was one day that I felt like I could do 20 minutes on my stationary bike at the lowest speed. Not a good idea.:-( I had cramp like pains all night and into the next day. So bike tale is a cautionary one - - don't do it! I have my postop visit this Thursday and I hope that I havent done any damage to the cuff, but I will let you know.
Have a great day, Ladies!
Kelly

Well, I managed 2 1/2 days back at work. Now we're on spring break. That will help!

I was fine on Wednesday, just tired. But by Thursday night I was wiped-out!!! I came home after collecting all my kiddos from school and promptly slept for nearly 4 hours. I woke up long enough to eat a bowl of soup and went right back to bed; sleeping nearly 9 1/2 hours until Friday AM! Boy, oh boy, was I tired!!

I came home yesterday and just lounged around. I've been having sneezing fits with some dry, hacking coughs. I actually feel like I may have "pulled " something inside, but am not in major pain or have any fever. Just sore. Plain ol' sore! Hope I haven't done too much or done any damage.

Today and the rest of the week should be restful. I still have two meals coming next week. From ladies who've "been there, done that". My family was getting tired of frozen pizzas. So was I, to be honest, but didn't have the energy to make anything else.

Hope everyone is enjoying the first signs of impending spring in their areas. It's a little cool today, but tomorrow is to be back in the 60's. Have a great, restful, healing weekend, gals!!

Sherri - you will see a remankable improvement in your recovery over the next week. At week 3 I thought I was regressing, but now at week 4 1/2 I am amazed at the energy level I have!

I worked at my real estate office all day yesterday then went to Chuckee Cheeze for my Granddaughter's 1st birthday. I was not looking forward to being around all those kids, but we stayed for 4 hours and I had a great time! When I got home I sat in my comfy chair and visited with one of my Realtors till midnight.

I feel like I am almost 100%, I still get those twinges inside and the pulling, but other than that, I think I am back!! YEA!

Hang in there, keep me posted, I care!

KathyMc-
WOW! you must be WONDER WOMAN!

It amazing to me you are doing so well with having a TAH 4 1/2 weeks ago. I think going back to work will be good for me because I need stimualtion. I actually just got back from a real restuarant for the first time since surgery. There has not been too much pain, I have just been worn out. I think my infection had a little to do with my backslide this week. Hopefully it is gone and next week will be good for me. Thanks for the inspiration!

Sherri

Hi Ladies! It is good to have one month down. I feel lots better and have better energy. I feel good about the decision to have the TAH/BSO, I still have 2 weeks off work to go and have my md visit on Friday. The weather is great, record high temps. yesterday was in the 70's. DH went golfing without me, said it wasn't as much fun without me!! :dance2: :dance2: I enjoyed the quiet and sun! Have a great day.

It's so good to hear that there are some ladies that are getting their strength back it gives me hope. I hav'nt been doing so good since about 3 1/2 weeks my energy levels started to decline and then I got really ill and kept having dizzy spells as well as passing some yukky discharge. Finally realised that there definately was something not right and rang my gyn's nurse who then said it sounds like a cuff infection so I had been given five day's of antibiotics and discharge has settled and now have more energy but it definately has knocked me back . Go to my doc this week to get cuff checked to make sure it is healing properly and stiil not infected. I honestly thought I would be alot better at this stage but it's just a matter of taking my time and not pushing things. Hope all of us continue on the road to recovery and I am sure there is a at the end of all of this.
Take Care
Kat
