Hi Ladies;

I'm going to start playing the lottery today, I think. MAN the thought of going back to work full time is not appealing to me in the least. And I love my job! Fully released today for everything (lifting included) but still feel a little "funky". I told the dr I didn't feel ready to start running again, and she said "go for it - you're fine". I guess she knows best....
6 weeks has flown by, now that I look back. If it wasn't for this place, I would have gone insane, that's for sure.

I had adenomyosis. Anyone ever heard of that? I didn't even know it was a possibility until my dr told me today.

Well, good luck to everyone who is up for their 6 week. I hope everyone's goes as well as mine did!

Hey everyone, Today is my 6 week mark too. My doc is on vacation so I go in on mon. and hope to be released then. I go back to work on April 4th and am very excited. I missed everyone so much and I really love my job.(I work in a NICU) Being off was o.k. but there was so much I couldn't do and now that I'm feeling great, it's time to go back. I work 3 8hr. shifts a week so it won't be too bad. I have so much more energy now than I have had for the last 8 months. This surgery has been a blessing for me...now I HAVE MY LIFE BACK!! Good luck to you all!

Almost 6 weeks out and I feel really good. Just bought the kids and I new kayaks, and I'm looking forward to an active summer not ruled by the distance to the nearest bathroom.

I burned all of my leftover tampons, maxipads, and condoms on the brush pile the other night. I had my leftover extra (unused) Fleet on hand in case the fire got out of control.

Annie1234 - Kayaks! = wow you must be feeling great - I just had my first day back at work and am now on the couch with DH - not moving much more tonight - but then my day hit 10 hours with an end of day meeting. I don't have anything to burn - DD still needs such things. I plan to toss the old undies and treat myself to slinky new ones as soon as I'm not so tender around the incision! - What river do you kayak?

6 week post op appointment

Yes, yesterday I had my 6 week post op and it went quite well. My dear Dr said I was doing well however no lifting more then 10lbs or sex for 3 months. Apparently I'm healing slowly and need to take it easy. When I told my dear husband he suggested we get a french maid (kidding I hope )He put me on the estrogen patch 25mg and wants to see me in 3 months to give me the final go ahead.
I had a TAH BSO with complications due to a large fibroid in the lining of my uterus. I had 3 blood transfusions (thank-you donors) and was hopitalized twice for an infection and consequently had to drain the blood sitting on my spleen
I'm just glad I'm back in my palace and slowly making progress without an IV.
I am thankful for the support, I don't think I would of survived without all of you out there sharing your experience and making me feel like I'm not crazy.
I'm convinced I'm not going to go crazy and I'm going to live a normal life like the rest of us.
Hang in there sisters

Hi everyone! Just got back from the dreaded (I had worked myself all up) 6 week check & Dr. said everything is good. I'm cleared for everything in moderation. She wants me to wait several more weeks before tackling any abdominal exercises and heavy lifting. The exam wasn't that painful - just uncomfortable. She said it will take several more months before my body is 100% but each week I should notice improvement with the swelling and fatigue. Thanks to all the ladies on this site, the past 6 weeks has been the hardest of my life but bearable with all the support I recieved from this site. I'm surprised dh didn't try some action in the elevator leaving the Dr.'s office - LOL - he's been a very patient man.

Bonacolta, she cleared me for everything but warned it might be slightly uncomfortable the first time & that it wouldn't be out of line to wait a few more weeks until I'm less tender in my abdomen. She also said (which I thought was interesting & didn't know) - (TMI) - that because I'm using Estriodal my body should produce its own lubrication which was a pleasant surprise after what I've read on the boards.

Had sex with my dh this week. I didn't realize how much pain I was in before my surgery until it was gone! What a blessing! I am so glad that I chose to do this. It is going to be a whole new life for my husband and I! I finally am starting to feel better than before! Yeah!
Hope you are all having success too.
