TAH on Feb 13th...

Tuesday was a wash, don't remember much. Verticle on Wednesday, home on Thursday. Family came over for Pizza on Friday, I relaxed in my Lazy Boy. Walked around Lowe's on Saturday, rested on Sunday.

Went to my real estate office on Monday for lunch and walked around Sam's. I have about 2 -3 hours of energy per day, trying to build on that.

The answer to consitpation? Go Easy Tea at your health food store! It tastes GREAT, no cramping, and nice soft stools the next morning! Ahhhhhh.....life is good.

Wow KathyMc! I had mine done the 14th & can't imagine leaving the house much less walking around Lowe's. Although each day I feel better its still a major accomplishment to get myself showered each day. Although I must be on the mend yesterday had to take pain meds every 4 hours and now today it was 12 hours since I took any so taking that as a very good sign

Easy Healer

I'm an easy healer (probably due to the fact I have adult ADHD!). Gave birth on a Friday and walked my older kids to school on the following Monday. BUT, the real challenge for me is to take it easy. I do a little then rest a little, making sure NOT to over do it!

My Dr. knows my personality type and warned me that he can fix me easier the first time, than the second time. I had a D&C in December and pushed myself too soon. Wound up in the ER 3 days later. It made me a believer!

Each of us has had a unique experience and we'll recover at different speeds. DON'T push yourself, allow your body to heal naturally.

Love ~ Kathy

Yes I was always a fast healer before this, I was up walking 20 minutes after having my last son but geez, never knew this would knock me for the loop it did. I figured I'd be like you & just breezing through this temporary situation, my body however had different ideas

Good luck to you and your recovery gives me hope that there i will start to feel better very soon, thanks!

Kathy- I am in your boat rowing hard. My doc and DH is threatening to strap me to a bed..... lol. I feel great, so it is hard to stay still. Went to a play, had music practice, did a music lesson, have gone shopping a couple of times....had this done on the 13th. I seem to have about 4 to 5 hours of really "up" time, then I rest. I have already cleaned out all my junk drawers and organized my pictures though. I just need to remain occupied I guess. I do not "sit and do nothing" very well. I do meditate every day- but that is different somehow.

Bit By Bit

I am really afraid of ovedoing it - I try for one big thing each day, yesterday i got most of our tax work done online but I realized we had not gotten one of the w2's for my DH - so I'll have to wait a bit longer to spend that refund. I reacted really badly to one of the solutions they used before my steri-strips were placed so that will keep me out of anything but loungewear and sweatpants for at least another week. We've got a fundraiser all of a sudden on Thursday - a friend's house burnt down and that will be my big deal for this week. Lots of stairs down to the room where it will be held - I've only done the house stairs to the basement a few times so far - plenty of enegy for it - but if I get too close to the laundry room............. that might not be pretty.
Hope all of you who need a bit of an energy boost get one soon!

Hi,

I'm so glad to read of all the strong women healing so well--keep it up!

I did the most excrutiating thing last night--I coughed. I couldn't believe the pain, it felt as if everything that has begun healing inside was torn apart again. It's back to normal now, but I will do anything to keep from coughing again.

Has anyone slept on their side yet? Not sure why I'm intimidated by that, I have a need to sleep on my back and not move much.

My energy fluctuates, one day I can be on my feet quite a bit, a couple days later I'm in bed more than out of it. The pain is definitely going away and I can go about 12 hours without Ibuprofen. Now, if anyone can recommend a way to keep my 3- and 4-year-olds loving each other instead of bickering. . .

Wishing everyone well,
Betsy

I honestly thought I would be up and at em by now. I did light chores this morning for a few hours and since noon have been bed bound. The pain isn't bad, but my body is so tired. This is so humbling because I have always had a fit strong body. I was running miles the day before surgery.
Reading all of your stories, and hearing how we all heal differently, has been such a gift. Thank you!
BTW- does anyone else have sore breasts? They left my ovaries so I assumed my hormones would stay stable.

I am not driving until two weeks.

I did sleep for about 15 minutes last night on my side, and it was blissful.

Coughing, sneezing and laughing.....owie owie owie.
