Moving 6wks Post-Op

I was hoping maybe some of you other ladies can give me some suggestions. My move was delayed because of my surgery and I cant delay it any longer I will be moving actually the week I will be 7 wks post op when dh gets here with the truck...In the mean time I have to have the house completely packed all by myself mostly. If anyone can tell me some good suggestions for packing for moving without lifting everything in the house I would greatly appreciate it. I barely feel like packing a suitcase atm I am 3wks post op today so I have 4 wks to get it done but I cant wait to be with my dh!

Thank you

Oh good luck. Take it slow. Maybe if you start putting the boxes some where where they can stay. Then carry the objects you are packing to the box. That way you don't pick up the full boxes with out help. BE VERY CAREFUL. You don't want to make your recovery time any longer than it has to be.

Please remember that you are on lifting restrictions for 6 weeks. You'll probably be able to do a lot of packing within the restrictions. Just plan on doing a little bit most days because you probably won't have the energy for a full day.

Can you ask a neighbor or friend to help with setting up boxes? At 3 weeks, it still hurt my tummy to slice an apple, so I sure couldn't have assembled boxes and taped them. Also, the bending to put things in boxes will put a fair amount of strain. Perhaps you can "stage" having things wrapped for boxing, and save putting them in the boxes until week 6?

This would be a great time to ask for help from the people around you. Could DH plan to come home for weekends too?

I wish you the best! Just remember to follow your doctor's activity restrictions so you don't have long-term issues. May I also suggest checking in with their office for medical advise?
