if you lose or gain weight do you need to adjust your estrogen?

i'm just curious...if one loses or gains weight would that mean that their hormones need to be adjusted. or does it have nothing to do with size? i've been losing weight here lately and i'm wondering how much more weight i can lose before my hormones will need adjusting...maybe it won't matter at all???

anyone have experience with this?

As estrogen is stored in fat, as you lose weight you may find that you don't store as much estrogen. You may or may not need to adjust. You will know by your symptoms. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you start having symptoms. Congrats on the weight loss!

Congrats on your weight loss (if that's what you wanted). How are you losing weight? diet? exercise? both? Wish you could send some weight loss my way (weigh).

I lost about 40 pounds over the last two years (still have some to go). I did need to increase my patch dosage... I started having symptoms and knew my old dosage wasn't doing the job anymore.

Everyone is different, so as (((Kim))) said, I'd wait and see whether or not you have symptoms. You might not.

thanks for the responses. i'm hoping it won't matter too much but if it does need adjusting at least there's a nice benefit to go with it!!

dorsey, i'm doing it the plain old boring way. just adding exercise (the little i can do at this point and it's still more than i did before) and eating healthy. i've cut out all refined products and replaced them with fresh veggies, a little fruit and plenty of protein. eventually i might eat some nice whole wheat bread but i find i'm highly sensitive to that sort of thing. my diet was primarily junk leading up to surgery, anything sweet and anything fried. i knew i'd lose weight doing this but i really did it for my health...cause finally it's the most important thing to me!!
