6 weeks post op today. I can definately tell that I still have the PMS stuff. Was out of sorts last week and then had a migraine yesterday. I always get what my dr calls hormone headaches. Yuck was hoping those were gone. I know what you mean about the packing wsttxangel. That felt very weird. I felt like a magician with all the scarves tucked up his sleeves, only mine were all inside me. LOL. Callalilly I was a homeschooler and will be again next year. Email me sometime would like to talk to you more about homeschooling. My dh and I decided over the weekend that instead of me going back to work, I am going to tell them I quit. I work at Wal-Mart as a sales associate. I'm still not allowed to lift, push or pull anything. Well that makes it hard for my job. My mother has two surgeries coming up one on each hand. I have another toe surgery in November and on May 17th I will be taking the state and national exam for my real estate license. Definately need some study time. We have made it financially since November when I first went on medical leave, I think we will be ok.

I had surgery 03/07/07 and I was home on the 8th. I really didnt have that much pain. I guess I over anticipated being in pain. I only took painkillers the first day. It took me too long to actually go to have a bowel movement (almost a week). I had a hard time trying to take it easy. My 2 yr old wanted to lay on mommy. Thankfully I had a vaginal hysterectomy. I also have 93 yr great grandmother in my home who was trying her best to care for me but i spent time looking after her. I guess we took care of each other. I am looking forward to my 6wk appt on Thursday. I have returned to work with light duty but a lot of info I learned on this site no one ever told me including the dr.

vaginal floor/pelvic floor spasm

Hi women!

Several weeks ago - VERY post-op, I posted that I had this couple of days where I felt like I was in this constant state of "arousal", I was very tense in my vaginal area. It went away after a couple days of heating pads and purposely relaxing my muscles. Now, 6 weeks post-op - I am feeling this again...after my first night of major sex.

MD on Friday but I like to refer to the "EXPERTS"...

Anyone else? Suggestions?

I had a lap hist on 3/5 and I noticed that right at 5 weeks postop I too felt very "aroused". I was able to have sex at 4 weeks post op but didnt until 5. I have had sex every night since then. It has been great. I never had that much of a sexual appetite before and I am truely enjoying this as well as my husband. For me I think that it is because I am no longer on birth controll(i was on pills then nuvaring). My appetite would would increase if i missed a pill and before my period,i think the hormones held me back. I still have my ovaries and now i think that it is part of my cycle. I also feel like I fell in love with my husband all over again, It sounds weird I know but Im enjoying every minute of it. I am curious if anyone else is experiencing this. Enjoy it and run wild with it.

tmol: It might depend on your age as to why you have such a sexual appetite. I'm 41 and can definately say my peak was a couple years ago. Although I am certainly hoping now that I dont have the bleeding problems or the fear of bleeding immediately after sex, that I can have my appetite back.LOL

I did experience a sexual arousal, but unfortunatly it was only about 4 weeks into recovery and really didn't want to risk tyring to satisfy them. Hoping all that returns as rocovery progresses. Haven't had my first night of major sex yet...alittle aprehensive about it.

woohoo had my first night and morning of sex since surgery and i was great....i think mostly because i didn't have any of that awful pain....sure wish i had done this years ago...not sure if my appetite has changed much but the fact that i know it won't hurt anymore may change that all together

I'm in my 5th week of recovery from abdominal hysterectomy. All of a sudden I feel that pulling sensation and a bit of crampiness again. Has anyone else experienced this? I was feeling great and now I tire easily. Augh! I thought it was all over. I'm afraid I may have overdone it last week...even though I don't feel like I did....

i've had some cramping....my doctor said it could possibly be phantom pain just like when people lose a limb and experience the phantom pain cause i haven't had any other problems and she said everything looked good
