Greetings, ladies --

I returned to the office this week - 6 weeks post surgery.
I feel great in the morning, but by mid-afternoon, my back is irritatingly uncomfortable. I can't call it pain - but it just radiates in my back. I've never had back problems before the surgery - any ideas how this fits into the recovery scheme?

Glad everybody is doing so well - it would appear we didn't lose anyone in our class - survivors all!

Love,

Hotlips2

Hotlips2,
I too am 6wks post-op, and have the same back pain you describe, but unfortunately no answers either. I have checked mine off to one of those things we will just put up. Hope you continue to do well and feel good. Hugs

I'm now at 6 weeks and yes I'm having some cramping and spasms. I felt better 2 weeks ago. I'm guessing that it is because we felt better and did more. My 6 week check up went well however the doc did say that I was inflamed. He cleaned up stitches and cauterized (that hurt) so I'm relly sore today. He also said that I needed to wait at least 10 more days before sex and because of the inflamation "that" would probably hurt. My doc also said that the pain just below my ribs may be an ulcer. He said that it's common to get a stress ulcer after surgery. Oh well, I still have hope that I will feel better than normal soon.

wsttxangel, sorry you had such a rough go of it. I also went through the nausea from the morphine, paired with a killer headache, that kept me there an extra night. I didn't feel any pain though from the surgery though, so I was relieved.

I go back to work on May 2nd ~ though I have technically had plenty of time off from the surgery, I WANT MORE!! I have gotten used to this time off and have been totally enjoying myself. Have to plan for a new surgery ~ haha

My belly area is still very puffy, is that what any of you are seeing? Not that I was in perfect shape before, it is just quite different looking.

Is anyone a work-at-home person? Homeschooler? I do both of those things and have been juggling and struggling for a couple of weeks. I panic sometimes because if I don't hustle work, the bills won't get paid (I know this is the truth with everyone). There is no paid time off.

All the VERY BEST to all of my hystersisters!
I too am a work-at-home person. I am a self-employed medical transcriptionist. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the bills not getting paid due to no paid time off. I only took TWO weeks off after my surgery because I just couldn't afford to take any longer. I felt for quite a while that I was pushing myself a little too hard just to get through the day. Luckily things are getting back to normal.

I haven't posted in this thread before. Not really sure why. But I had my surgery a little over six weeks ago. Everything went great with no complications. I still get the occasional pin-point, sharp pains in areas of the vagina sometimes. I did still have some sutures at my final follow up a week ago so i guess that's to be expected. I had to go in a week early because of some nasty smelling drainage. Got that all cleared up with some antibiotic gel and haven't had a drop of spotting since!! I was so thrilled because I had had slight spotting ever since surgery. But it's all gone now and I feel great. I got the all clear for activities last week but have to wait until April 27th for sex just because he wanted me to give those last few stitches some time to dissolve first. I'm VERY eager for this day to come, but scared at the same time. I had a lot of repairs done so I worry that it will be really tight and will hurt some. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I did survive the exam after all.

My only complaint is that I still have a slight sensation like it feels when you have a tampon working its way out. I have noticed since my surgery when I am "checking things out" down there that there is a bulge of skin on the back side of the vagina where the posterior repair was done. It seems to be pretty sensitive, and I believe that is where that sensation is coming from. But it was there when I went for my check up and the doc said everything has healed up great, so I assume it's normal. It is, nonetheless, rather annoying. But I am still very glad I had the surgery done and have no regrets.

Morning Sisters,
Had my first sex since the surgery. It was all fine and no spotting or discomfort. My husband did say I felt alittle different...maybe alittle tighter and this is my question....he says that the top wall felt hotter. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyway, it was all good, infact maybe better then before surgery. My O's seem alittle more intense....YIPEE!!

Mighty13--
I am happy that things are getting back to normal for you! I also had sex for the first time about a week ago. I did spot a little but very little. It is still a little sore but I guess it will get better each time. My DH was quite happy also.
