What is that on that CT scan?

So as a follow-up to my ongoing issues with my repairs, I had some tests done this week including a voiding cystogram.....yeah that was fun! *not* Anywho I see these two odd looking things on my pictures so I ask what they are and the response is that they are surgical clips. "Um, why are they still in there?" "Good question. It isn't uncommon but......blah blah blah....."

So they aren't near the bladder so they definitely aren't what is causing the problem but why are they there? I would have thought all of that would have come out before they closed me up. They are small but I don't know what to think about these things being in there nor do I know which surgery they are from. Thoughts?

What is that on that CT scan?

Hi stranger. I am sorry to hear you are still having problems too. I had a rectocele develope after hyst and had lots of problems with my bladder after the repair 3 weeks ago. What is going on with you and what is with the clips. I have never heard of them. I had a cystometrogram 2 weeks before repair (hated every minute of that) and ended up with a major UTI right before surgery. This has definately been a rough few months. I hope they figure out what is up with you soon!

Hi Kathiem! I saw you over on the bladder concerns board and I cannot believe how much you've been through! My heart breaks for you honey.

I have no idea what is up with these clips. The tech asked if I had had both of my ovaries out and I told her they only took the one a year and a half ago. From the positioning of the one on that side, we had no clue why it would be there. The one on the right side looks like it is probably from where they clipped off the fallopian tube before removing the uterus but good grief....why did he leave it there? On my list of questions for him.

I've had the dilation, CT w/contrast and voiding cysto done since surgery and if you remember my history, it was all a bit much for me. Just knock me out and figure out what is going on.....I just can't deal with this. I'm not able to void properly or fully in a normal position and can only do a halfway decent void in a partially standing (think public toilet hover) position. The sling doesn't appear to be too tight or anything so we're trying to figure out what is happening. I also have unreal stress incontinence which was not a problem pre-surg so he is really wondering what is going on. Obviously not happy about all this but I trust him implicitly and I know he'll get it figured out. Worse case scenario would be cutting or removing the sling as it may just be my body not wanting it there!

I'll keep up with you on the bladder/pelvic board. So great to see a familiar face!
Hugs

I missed you too. One week of bladder problems was total hell for me. I feel for you. My bladder would not work after rectocele repair even tho they had not gone near it. Dr things anesthesia put it to sleep. I was in the hospital 2 extra days while the drained my bladder every few hours and finally they just left the cath in and sent me home for 2 days with it. FInally my bladder started working but for the next week I had to do all kinds of contortions to get it empty. Now it is pretty much normal. If I could just get this outside incision area under control things would be looking up.

I am glad you trust your DR and I am sure they will get it all figured out! It is so good to hear from you. I hope all else is going well for you!
