Went to my son's party today. Stood for 4 hours and walking around to supervise.... My migraine doc refilled my meds, so I actually took one of those before the party (codeine and ibuprofen(sp?).I can't do that much, but it was his party. I made it through and broke down when I got home.
I wasn't even doing anything!
Yesterday after my doc appointment I had to wait almost an hour for husband to come back and get me, so I walked across the street, had a lemon aid, got a belly pillow from the pharmacy there, and waited.. that seemed like too much too..
I feel like I am going backwards not forwards.. Maybe I am just overdoing it and paying for it.

luvaggs85: I am glad to hear that you got food in the house. I hope that you don't have to go to the ER. Those places are not fun ;-)

onrecat: I am glad to hear that it is not just me, thank you for the reply. If I find out what is causing mine I will let you know.

Catherine: I did not mean to cross bounds. I tried last night to post something new and it never showed up. I will try again when I have more time.

Good evening ladies!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. Waiting for the kids to wake up to start egg hunting stuff. LOL The days of them dragging us out of bed are over. Yeah, I'm addicted to this site. Swore I was only going to read today.

31&Done, I must have missed your original post about the incision tearing open. Saw it copied. Oh, my prayers go out to you! Sooooo sorry that happened. Just when we think we're home free. It really does remind us all we've still got to take it easy.

I'm also with Solstice & others marveling on what little seems to overtax us. And yet other times doesn't. Yesterday, DH took me to Sam's Club and later grocery store to get last min. things for today also went for a long walk. I was actually trying to see if I could instigate that hernia problem during the day. Nope. Felt pretty much ok. Hurt a bit by the time bedtime rolled around, but not near the problem of the night before when I'd done so much less. Go figure. I'm interested to see how sitting/standing/kneeling in church goes today. Last week Mass wiped me out.

Anyway, hope everyone's Easter is joyous and RESTFUL. I'm giving thanks that even with the little problems I'm having, I'm still doing pretty well in recovery and have made it this far. My prayers to all who are having challenges in recovery!! LJC

Good morning everyone. We seem to have slipped down to page 4, so thought I'd post a little update to bump us back up.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and didn't overdo it too much. We cooked a nice big turkey with all the traditional English trimmings for Easter dinner. Had a couple of friends over to enjoy it with us. Not ready for a house full of guests yet!

LuvAggs85 - Hope all goes well with the US tomorrow.

I've got docs appt. this afternoon to recheck the infected incision. Last time I saw him (week and a bit ago) it looked like everything was cleared and healing nice. Now, however there is a bit of Uck unde the dressing again so I hope it's still OK. Will ask him about the stupid "spotting" I've had since Wednesday as well. Looks like it's stopped for now. Gotta go, late taking kids to school. Will check in later.

Happy Monday everyone

4 weeks post-op to the minute, and I'm very happy to say I'm doing well. The minor spotting (sloughing) has pretty much stopped and the incision scar is beginning to go lighter. I'm very much looking forward to the 6 weeks date so that I can get back to yoga and Pilates. I feel as though I could do it now, but will heed to the conventional advice about NO abdominal workouts till then. In the meantime, I continue to walk as a substitute.
Take care all, and happy healing!

Harpgolfer: I'm 4 weeks today too! I was lying in a bed going over the pre-op stuff at this exact time. Glad to hear you are doing well.

Hi, everyone! Does anyone still have the right side pain problem? It seems I still have that annoyance. not sure why. But if I lay my hand on the area, it seems tender. Must be part of the process. Still have slight spotting -- enough so don't feel safe without a minipad. Driving a little. Went & got a hair cut Friday. We had a pot luck Easter at My 86-yr old mom's -- 19 people -- I took lamb, mint jelly, riced potatoes, brocolli, & yeast rolls. my other 7 brothers & sisters contributed --

Anyway 4 wks tomorrow and it seems like I am not able to do much, plus the right side pain, and the spotting. I thought I'd be farther along by now.

Rt. side pain

KoKo: I sometimes have that mysterious rt. side pain also. It comes and goes, seems to be related to a strain such as a sneeze. Then I will have the pain which will last all day.
Every day is a little better, almost felt normal yesterday. Sleeping better on the Ambien.
We will all be able to wear white pants soon with no paranoia.

Was yours a laparoscopic procedure? I had a TAH/BSO with a midline incision, not a bikini line. They don't cut through muscle with a midline; they retract connective tissue. (I still have trouble picturing that! Uggh.) It did hurt for just a few days, and more on the right side than the left. I have had two laparoscopies in the past, however, and I recall not bouncing back as fast from those as I have from this surgery. It took a long time for the gas (not bowel) to dissipate, and the discomfort from that alone was very challenging.

I had a total abdominal hyster-- left ovaries in, incision right above the hairline, not sure if that is considered midline or bikini. He did not cut through the muscle either. I think what's happening with me is probably par for the course.

A big milestone ...

Yes, I too hope all had a glorious Easter weekend and all of you of still doing your homework and taking it easy getting better.

My day began at 5 and although I sat for a few minutes here and there I did not stop until 8 last night ! ! Surprisingly did great ... was worn out BUT did not get any serious pains. My back was/is a little sore but nothing 600mg IBU wan't heal. Even my incision site is feeling better! Although, I am exhausted today.

We so enjoy this time of year and having all the children here so I am glad I was able to enjoy it!

Here we are a little more than 1/2 way through the six weeks ... this week I will try doing more of the quick runs around town and also continue to work on my stamina by walking a little more. Couldn't imagine putting in a full day at work, yet.

My best to all my sisters!
