I tried on jeans today too, they are stretchy jeans (was not about to get the stiff ones out). I could wear them but ouch! bending or sitting... more time needed ;-)

We went to my nephew's birthday party today. More than an hour in the car, stopped and had lunch with grandparents, then off to 3 hours of kid craziness and another hour home...
TOO MUCH! I am glad I had ice packs and Motrin with me.
I told my DH that I thought it would be too much with that kind of car ride. He thought I was just complaining that they moved the party too far away and did not take me seriously...
I don't know what to do about him..... He just does not get it...
We where unpacking boxes yesterday and he asked for my help and we where standing and shifting things from totes etc. After 1.5 hours I asked him to set a time limit, so he did for one more hour. 2.5 hours later he got around to stopping.

Anyway. We had a good time today despite the soreness it caused.

Good night all!

sore too

Hi Jo,
After being out and about for much time at all, I tend to get sort of a heavy achey feeling in my whole pelvis region (not just the front). It's hard to describe, heavy with a tingling sort of feel. The pulling sensation along my old hernia & thru groin also gets worse; sometimes to point of making me limp. I'm good for about an hour so long as there's no car ride or lots of changing from sitting to standing, etc. Church does me in everytime and I'm skipping the kneeling part. Car rides (whether I'm driving or riding) also are a problem.

I occasionally take a prescription Naprosyn but find Ibuprophen seems to work best. I'm not taking the codiene much anymore (last was last Monday night). Mainly because I've found when I hurt that bad, it doesn't seem to help anyway. However, don't worry if you're still needing more meds. We all heal differently and perceive pain differently.

I can't imagine going back to work. I'm supposed to be "ready" next week (6th week). HAH. What a joke. I won't go back though until we know what this pulling on my old hernia is or it stops. I'm very lucky in that we don't NEED my income and my boss is willing to wait (I'm in retail so my being out lets others who need it more have my hours now that we're slow - fewer customers). I'm going to start trying to build my staminia up now though. Longer walks, make myself do stuff around the house, short car errands. Work wore me out before the surgery, I can just imagine what it'd do now.

This weekend was busy but wore me out a little less than last (tolerated activities better) so I guess that's a good sign.

Morning, Ladies

5 weeks today and doing great! Next Monday, I go back for the 6 week gyno follow up and Tuesday, to get the ureteral stent removed...finally!
I was little tired yesterday, mainly due to the wretched Noreaster that blew into town. The sinus pressure it caused was unbelievable, which is what makes me drowsy.
But it's moving out today, and I got a good night's sleep.
Hope you're all doing well and happy healing.

Thanks LJC.

My hip pain has come back today and is pretty fierce so had to take codeine so senokot at the ready this time! Unfortunately can't take anti-inflammatories as have dicky stomach, really wish I could as am sure this is caused by sitting in the car over the weekend and walking round the shops yesterday.

Dh

Solstice: I also have a DH who is frankly not very nurturing, but himself is a bottomless pit. This surgery really gave me a wake up call, and I am determined to stop all the catering to him, and demand my equal time.
It occured to me that a relationship is a two way street, not a license for a Mother or a caretaker. You must stand up for yourself and not let DH push you to accomplish his agenda. This time is about you, not him and you set the pace for what you can do, not him, and let him know it; at the top of your lungs if you have to.
I too am still having the come and go spasms on my right side, sometimes higher up, sometimes in the vaginal area. Still having the urinary stinging, and bouts of frequency, still get very tired all of a sudden. Also find I am not handling frustration very well, I think my hormones need more tweaking.
I hibernated over the weekend. Stayed in my PJ's and just sorted out my home office papers and napped.

I'm still having pain. Not tugging or pulling. Just achy and soreness along with massive fatigue. I've also been really anxious and get upset at the drop of a hat. Its a wacky ride. Stay strong all. No lifting!

Me too

Yeah Smudgie, I also have that achy, sore feeling, sometimes even uncomfortable to sit. So sorry you are still having pain. I hope at 6 weeks we will all be feeling human again.

Hi everyone - just checking in to say Hi and see how everyone else is doing. Going to hibernate today. Tired and sore does not begin to describe how I feel today. Way over did it yesterday but knew it would be so. Spent all morning fixing food for DD's pool party. Dealt with 20 teens all afternoon and then to top it all while tring to kick them all out (last ones didn;t leave till 8.30 for an afteroon party!) and clean up some good friends (maybe not so good!) invited themselves to dinner last night. I think in all, I was on my feet from 6 am to 10.30 pm doing something all the time. Not a good idea, as I am finding out this morning. And, of course no one brings a towel to a pool party!! So, tons of laundry to do. I am glad to say it was a success even though the weather wasn't too good. Here in Vegas yesterday we had everything from sun to wind to sun to rain to sun etc... Going to take a nap this afternoon as we are out to dinner this evening as a family to celebrate DD's birthday yesterday and mine tomorrow. Also going out tomorrow night with friends for dinner. I can't wait till this week is over!

Like LuvsAggs, I have that really heavy sore achy feeling through all my tummy today. Started sometime yesterday evening and usually would have been gone by morning. Just could not get comfortable to sleep last night and still feel heavy and achy this morning. I did predict that today I would be taking 3 steps back. Hpefully a nap will make me feel more human again.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend!
