Cindy: I think the drs. try not to make it sound too bad, cause if they told the WHOLE STORY we might not do it! That would be bad also!

Wow, sounds like good advice to me. I've heard the same thing. That while 6-8 weeks is a good indication as to when you can resume doing a good part of the things you were, it's more like 6 mos to a year before everything is 'as it was' before the operation. If it means I'll feel better then I did prior to surgery, a year is hardly a long time.

Anyway, feeling decent today. A bit of pressure in the lower region. May take a Motrin since it really does help.

Hope everyone is doing well. Superwife.....want to hear from you.

s Paula

Miette......yes, when you apply a self tanner, you must wash it off your hands......also, don't apply it too heavily to elbows or knees since it will come up darker in those areas. Silly girl!

Sorry to hear you're feeling tired......take it easy today, sister. Don't want to undo what's in a good place. It's so gloomy here.....as we're in the midst of a Nor'Easter - a fancy name for a hurricane like storm. Thankfully, we've only had rain since early morning and it's supposed to continue until tomorrow afternoon. Some of the lakes are supposed to overflow which will cause flooding in the lower lying areas.

BF and I are just sitting around - may get a movie since that will keep us entertained for a bit (Lord knows there's only so much entertaining we can give each other)

Anywho.....love to all my sisters.....hope all of you are feeling well and for the ones who aren't - rest, rest, rest!

s Paula

Hey girls,
Haven't seen a post from Superwife, hope & she went to the ER, & that she's OK.
Doggone: I feel for you, if your bleeding persists please don't wait, go to your Dr. or the ER.

I think a few of us (myself included) over did it yesterday, I am so sore in the ab region & inside from my belly button down. Lesson learned... I'm actually wearing my post-op girdle from the hospital, it seems to help. I plan on doing NOTHING today but rest. I think sometimes I feel like I'm having a good burst of energy so I try to slip back into the real world of functioning adults and end up sore. I am so not a "home body", I'm used to being out & about, this is really difficult at times.
Do any of you ever feel the same way? I bet so.
Who's tired of daytime TV yet? Court shows & Food Network, I've got so many new recipes but can't really cook yet since it's hard to stand for prolonged amounts of time.

Bas4Cas & Groovydiva: I bet the Dr.'s a right, 8weeks to get back to functioning & performing small tasks but 1yr to get back to normal.

Paige69: I'm with you on going back to church, I want to go but dread sitting for almost 2 hrs. I haven't gone since I delivered Feb 23, thought I'd go back in a few weeks but had a "H" instead. I really miss going though, I always looked forward to it 'cause it helps me through the week.

Jazzy: we're having some yucky rain here in Florida today too, along w/ lots of wind. I don't mind though since I'm no venturing out at all. I might even take a nap today to catch up on the sleep I miss out on w/ the insomnia.

My mom-in-law leaves on tues., after that I'll have the maid service kick in. My mom can't come out for another few weeks. I'm from Calif. so my whole family & all my friends are there, big bummer, I miss my BF. Her DH is in Boston for 3wks. filming a show for Bravo channel, she could have totally helped me out & I could have kept her company!
Oh well C'est la vie!

DH & baby are napping, DD is walking the dogs so I think I'll go take a nap too.

Have a Blessed & Wonderful day everyone, don't forget to pray for Superwife.

Your Hyster Sister,

I hope my strength comes back soon. Today I don't even feel like getting off the couch. I'm also freezing to death. All this wind and rain in CT is gloomy!

Hey there, Paula.... thank you for the tips on the self tanner... I'm such a dork. I will remember about the elbows and such. I can't believe I did that... hope it wears off soon. It looks really silly.

Sorry to hear about your weather.. ack! Sounds icky. Do you like watching movies too? I enjoy it when I can manage to sit through one. I'm kinda restless. DH is a movie fantatic. He'll sit through pretty much anything once. I'm more of a reader, I guess.

My puter is up and running... sorta...so I'll be checking in with you girls like usual. I'm dog-tired today so I'm thinking of going to bed really early. Thanks so much for your well-wishes. Other than being tired, I'm just a wee bit crampy and my hips feel weird... probably from too much walking. I'm on that borderline where I feel good enough to do enough damage to put me on the sofa for a couple of days.. eep. I'll try to take it easy. So darn hard to not lift anything or move stuff around..grr... but I'll manage.. nag DH into doing it for me, perhaps?

Love and hugs,

Hello Ladies! I haven't updated in a while, but I've been catching up with all of your messages. It sounds like we are all a bit uneven in our healing. I'm still having some mild discomfort in the area where I had pain before the surgery, but overall I'm doing really well. Because of the unfortunate chair jumping incident my DH doesn't let me do anything, so I'm not in danger of overdoing it.

A few of you mentioned sensitive teeth. I thought it was just me. I had my ovaries removed and a few days after I got home, my teeth started hurting really badly. I started HRT about 10 days ago, and the sensitivity is slowly getting better. I don't know if there is a hormone connection or not, but it sure it interesting.

I have been sleeping through the night for the last week or so. That hasn't happened in so long, I'd forgotten what it was like. I'm sure it is because of the HRT, which include Tri-Est, Progesterone, and Testosterone. Funny thing is, now that I sleep all night, I am still tired about 2 hours after I wake up. I've been having a little one hour nap almost every morning this week. Maybe my body has been deprived of sleep for so long that it wants to catch up.

Hope everyone has a lovely afternoon. I'll check in later.

Hi all-thanks for the prayers dh made it home we're both so excited. He got in and out of Newark before it got bad. He really liked India, but is glad to be home. We're going to hang out by the pool (it's cool but sunny) and barbeque later.

I'm also excited because I actually slept last night. Got 5 hours of solid sleep and then another 3 after I checked to make sure dh was in the US. And I just got up from 1 hour nap. I feel so good-can even handle the tooth today. Gosh do you think I could sleep well agian tonight-Hope hope. I think my gums have receded since surgery (a hormone thing??) and there must be sensitivity going on. I got some sort of rinse and that has helped tremendously. I also did another 35 minutes on the bike-practiced cueing a class as I will be doing an audition soon. Whew I got out of shape in 4 weeks-my heart rate was really high for what work I did.

Prayers to all who have started bleeding. I know one was Superwife and the other was someone who had washed and hung curtains yesterday. A reminder that we all are still recovering even if we feel better. Have a good evening

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in - must be feeling better since this is my first look at the posts since yesterday morning. Had a productive day yesterday. DH and DD helped with the clean (all the heavy stuff) and I was able to clear out some things in my closet and do some dusting but was quite tired after that. Having those same twinges like some of you but have less today.

Miette: I don't think we should worry about sex. I also had my cervix removed but based on some of the info provided by DR there is plenty of room in the vagina. My worry is that I keep visualizing all those stitches but hoping my DR will be able to say whether they have healed or not then I guess we'll just take things really slowly from there. Regarding the lubricant, I have already spotted it on the pharmacy shelf so it's there if I need it (since we still have our ovaries, I think the hormones are still playing a part so who knows!

superwife: Good decision to go to hospital, hope everything is alright.

doggone: Hanging curtains involves a lot of stretch and we take for granted how easy it is when we are in good health. We must all pace ourselves.

Will jump to other thread now while my "swelly belly band does its magic.
