Hi all.

I feel like I have turned that corner. Have had three 'good days'. Happy four weeks tomorrow!

Becky--I started Paxil (an anti-depres) last Thursday. I can not have HRT for various reasons. Dr. says this is to relieve those syptoms. It's a short term solution but he felt it would give me the relief I need during my recovery. It takes several days for noticable relief so I can't yet say it is working.

Angelic- I too have had NO discharge, not even in the hospital. I asked the dr. about that and he said great...like I was complaining that I had none. I asked about expecting it when the internal sutures dissolve and he said I would not even notice that. Guess we are lucky in this respect. Prior to my surgery I wore a Poise pad every day for urine leakage as I had a major problem with incontinence. Dr. said that could be attributed to the fibriods pushing around in there. Since then I haven't even needed that!!

Going back to work Friday. I am excited to see my students and get the year over!! Only 30 days for me!

Have a good evening friends.

Jane

Bionic...you can start a "New thread". Entitle it, "Addison's Disease" and post your questions or concerns. This way you'll get answers from other sisters who either have it or know what it is.

Hope that helps.

Hey all,

Okay so I did get on the treamill for about 10 minutes this morning at 3 mph. I was nervous doing more. I started to feel some twinges in my right side so I stopped. But I did feel good that I did that much.
More every day. Baby steps, right?

Mary I love it. Thajnks for finding it for me!!

Cooked a weight watchers recipe for dinner tonight...stuffed shells. First time I can say I really cooked since surgery.

Feel like I have turned the corner as I have had three 'good' days. I am still not sleeping the best but it's getting better.

Superwife! So happy to see your post and to know you got the needed attention to your issue. Now up and get better.....we're so happy you're okay.

Jane how are you feeling on the Paxil? It only took me a few days to get used to it - I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone, but by week two my own family recognized a difference. Keep me posted.

Angelic - no odor and normal discharge......though I'm feeling quite painful in my lower right region - where the ovary is. (I Think). It feels like a bad bruise when I just touch my skin. Called the doctor today but she didn't call back.

More then likely this weather got in everyone's way. We'll be a while drying out here. Thankfully I'm in a 2nd floor apt. and water isn't an issue!

Angelic... I figured it could go either way depending on the person. Regarding odor...oh yeah...there is definitely one associated with the drainage (for me anyone and that seems to be the consensus with some of the other sisters). My dear dogs wouldn't stop smelling my crotch...LOL!!! Its gross but true. At my last visit, the dr gave me a vaginal cream to help keep the area "tidy". The main amount of drainage I have now is a mix of the cream and reddish fluid. But, the odor has gone. The cream is only for 5 days, and I am on day 4, so we will see what happens. I am looking forward to completing day 5 'cause the side effects of the cream are pretty cruddy and thats how I feel.

Jane..Glad you are feeling better. I too am just starting back to work (desk duty for now).

Texas out!

Time to check in again,

Hi Paige69,
Funny you should mention the pain you've had since surgery. I was having twinges in my leg but no idea if this is the same as you.

Hi Lightandclouds,
Just to let you I understand your worry over the lumps that you have found. I am not on any type of HRT's but have a history of cysts for about 12 years. I have a mammogram every year and combined with an ultrasound, they have always been benign. It doesn't stop the worry however so take care of yourself.

Hi Gingersnap123,
Not even 4 weeks of recovery and work worries start to set in. Just take it easy and make sure you stress to your employer that you have had major surgery. I know the toughest part for me will be all the stress and sitting at a computer all day although I don't go back to work until May 22nd.

Hi Georgiascuba23,

Happy your post-op went well for you and thanks for the useful info from DR expecially concerning how long to expect pain. I also wish you the best in returning to work next week.

Hi J9mattfield,

You have so much to contend over and above your surgery plus your dad being sick. Hang in there and know that we are all there to support you.

H Superwife,

So glad to hear from you. We were all so worried. Such a good thing that you went to the hospital, it would have been so easy to minimize your symptoms and do nothing so you definitely made the right decision.
Take care - you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Bionic,
I had virtually no discharge the first week but a reddish brown one in the last 2 weeks with some occasional pick spotting but I believe this is normal.

Hi Becky,
Congrats on your 4 weeks! Sorry you`re having such a rough time with hormones. Hopefully your DR will find a solution that works for you.

Hi Jane,
Best wishes for your return to work.

Good night to everyone.

Hi Jane....good to know that you are one of the lucky ones too....I've had to wear panty liners daily for a long time due to leakage incontinence too, I was assuming it was due to my enlarged uterus...unlike you though, I am still having to wear the liners hoping that will subside when everything is healed...good for you, no more Poise pads for you...what a bonus

I wish you all the best on Friday...exciting...remember to take care!

Becky and Jane...I was on Paxil for 3 yrs for panic/anxiety, and was recently changed over to effexor (pretty much the same thing) so that prob explains why I ahvn't had any problems with hot flashes either!

freezia...looks like you're one of the lucky ones too the
