Thanks, Jpgurl, for your concern - you really made me feel better about all this. Frankly I'm scared to death of this root canal - I'm such a baby! Although I'm very sympathetic to your reasons for avoiding the dentist, it's refreshing to know I've got company!

Well, I've procratinated long enough - guess I'd better get moving or I'll be late for my appointment. ick.

Hope you're having a great day!

I'll have to go to the dentist and get a new one and my teeth cleaned. I've been avoiding it because I know I have more cracks in my teeth and receding gums-don wanna think what he's going to do. I'd rather have a hysterectomy again. I hate having my teeth worked on.
Finally started eating half way decent. I don't like cooking just for me-heck I don't like cooking period-but today I decided that if I wanted to get back into race (not like I really race) performance shape I'd better start eating right. Going to try some light weights tomorrow after cycling class. I may go outdoor riding this weekend-my 6 post op is next week and I think he'll clear me anyway. Take care and nighty night.

jpgurl...you are truly an inspiration. was your husband surprised to see how well you had progressed when he returned from india? and, wow, am i nosy, but did he bring you something nice back (other than himself?) you don't have to answer, just being nosy! i did some light floor exercises yesterday and some light yoga stretching of my torso and back as i have been getting into the habit of hunching over when i walk due to the incision. now that it is feeling quite fine, i'm trying to stand tall, shoulders back and chest high like my yoga instructor would want. i sure do miss my yoga and salsa. i feel my strength gradually coming back. doing light housework today and up and down my stairs. a walk on the street the other day and up a hill tired me out but i'm patient. please don't use too heavy weights jpgurl...i don't want to see you get injured...take care.

Day 37 and counting. Have had terrible back aches by the end of my day (noon). Too much standing or sitting, I can't tell which. Also headaches. Guess this is to be expected since I am trying to get back into the work routine. Tooting still and now I am constipated. I am hoping I can 'get going' soon. Mentally still in a fog. Unable to concentrate for any length of time on any one thing. Happy birthday Horizon. Catch you on the other thread.

Good afternoon sisters. Hope all are having a good day after a most restful night. Today was another half day of school...I am going to work all day tomorrow since it's Friday and that's generally an easy day for me. I am SO glad I did the half days this week and SO grateful that I got support from my sisters here. Only you all truly understand what I am going through and I appreciate your support. No 'toots' at school today....thank goodness.

Suzie-Q--How was the dentist? I can relate to your fears, but I have had so much work done I kind of gotten used to the pain. I get nitrious (sp?) gas whenever I have work done...kind of like having a couple drinks without the hangover.....I sometimes wish I could just stop in the office for that...a grest stress reliver. I get all they'll give me...my chart says turn her up as high as it'll go!!

Jazzy---LOL about your fireman brother. I can attest to the fact with guys that humor starts young. The boys are the worst when it comes to the grossness factor in my class! Farts, buggers, snot, dirt you name it. A while back I kept smelling this horrid smell in the hall by the lockers. I could not figure out what it was. Finally I found a months old banana in a locker. The boy never noticed.

Distracted- -I wouldn't be surprised if your ds has some reaction to the school's food. I think a lot of children these days have these symptoms because of the quality of food the school serves. Some days it's downright gross....the smell (I am right across the hall) is enough to make me ill at times. I NEVER buy my lunch. And did you ever notice most days the menu is yellow and brown. Very little green.

TO the rest of my sisters here....thinking of you all. I tell anyone who will listen at work about you all....well, NOT that stuff ....and how much support I have gotten here. Just this morning I was singing your praises and telling about this site and that we have our sights set on Oprah. Love ya all.

Well, since I am home I might as well take a nap. I am actually pretty sleepy.

so the difference between you and me is that physically, you are doing much better. mentally, i'm wired...lol...i think because of the pre-chemo steroids i was given. i've been wide awake every day since day 4 post chemo. yesterday i only lay down for 15 min., the other days 1 hour and still had to take an atavin to fall asleep. up every morning at 8. the last 2 days have been doing light work, ie. emptying the d.w., small load of laundry, setting the table, getting lunch for father-in-law and taking it downstairs...nothing remotely heavy.

you are definitely not losing your mind...your body is still healing...maybe your mind is telling you to slow down on the activity a little. i hope you are eating healthy and not overdoing it. we are all unique in our recovery, our ages, and our activity before the surgery so don't be surprised if some are further ahead than others. i sure wish i had your physical energy!! take care and have a great day!

I also share the same date, happy 5 weeks!
My belly feels like it's been sunburned and I still have random sharp pains. I've been walking about 15 min. every evening with my dog and hubby since about mid week two.I can't seem to get the energy to do much more although I am do little things around the house. Like you said we all have our own pace I just need to kick it up a notch.

bjenkins, I can't believe you are JOGGING already! I just went for a walk and am convinced I will never, ever be able to run again. Now you are my inspiration. I will have to try.

We will see if tonight hubby and I take the plunge and do the dirty deed. I feel like a virgin again, although I don't remember if I was this scared the first time!

Everyone feel better, enjoy your day and remember to see the blessings in life.

Happy Birthday Horizon!!!!

Teacher~ His school is pretty good, but still mostly processed preservative laden junk! with little to no nutrional value. They do offer the children a fresh green salad everyday. Thank goodness my boys love salad. Now, if they would just put it where they can reach it!

Wow that's great...a salad every day. We do have second choice each day that changes each week. About once a month they have salad for second choice. I have been pleasantly surprosed by the number of students who will order (and actually eat) this.
