Hi there!

Hey, just because I haven't posted here doesn't mean I don't care.

Work has gotten extremely busy...10-12 hours days last week plus a dr. appt and a sonogram. So, I really wasn't able to get posts out on both threads. Plus, hubby and I were non-stop over the weekend trying to catch up on home improvement projects. However, I was able to give recovery updates on the other thread and respond to a few others as well. There are ladies out there having issues with blood clots, and I am al too familiar with those.

Like JpGurl, I am feeling great...better than before surgery too! I exerted myself a lot over the weekend, and the only complaints would be intensified bladder spasms and I'm tired. My leg will swell no matter what I do, but I do find that rest helps. Hubby left for a trip this morning, so I am hoping to get some rest this evening.

I am still finding it weird that I don't have a period anymore. I find myself doing some habitual thinking such as "Am I going to get my period soon?" Then I remember that it won't be happening anymore...thank goodness.

NGM: I think about you every day. I was telling my girlfriends about you on Saturday, and what an inspiration you are. Plus, my sister recently cut her hair and donated it to locks for life. I hope you like your new hair piece, though I am still shocked at the cost!! I had no idea that wigs were so expensive. But, I know its not about the cost. Anyway, enjoy your couch!

rabbit...thank you for such a compliment, deserved or not, i'll accept it. that is wonderful that your sister donated her hair...it will most certainly be appreciated by someone. yes, my wig was expensive...i don't know if it might be a difference in quality or not...someone i heard of bought a wig for $75.00. anyways, mine is a combination of human and synthetic hair, washable and it bounces back to the same style. i also received lovely service and they will give me a "g.i. jane" buzz and a scalp treatment when the time comes for free. apparently one has to be careful of ingrown hairs...i didn't know that.

i'm so happy to hear that you are feeling so much better, even moreso than before the surgery...that is encouraging. i'm feeling quite well also. i'll be going into the next chemo treatment stronger than the first, so hopefully it will be easier. and yes, i'm enjoying my sofa.

continue to feel better, rabbit, and rest while your d.h. is away! i think of all you "sisters" also every day and hope you all are getting better.

Hi Elvis-

I had a TVH, but one of my lapro incisions got infected...about the size of large pinhole. This happened about week 5-6, so I was surprised to see it. It oozed puss and blood until yesterday even though I was putting Neosporin on it daily. It was itchy and kinda sore too.

I just looked at the area and it seems to be healed up now.

Hope this helps!

HeyOOOOH! How are the sisters??? I used to get an email each time someone posted and I haven't had one in days. Figured I'd sign on to see what was going on! Geesh - 4 pages of posts........busy, busy, busy!

Had my internal on Thursday.....cleared for sex and was told everything looked great. BF and I gave it a shot and while it didn't hurt, I did feel the burning sensation that Freesia mentioned. Had to use lube - though I've noticed that since my operation.....I lube up on my own better then I had been before. Maybe the ovaries weren't working due to the fibroids and cyst they found on one. I still use it though since it makes it easier all around. Was told I may bleed a bit but didn't see anything at all. Woo Hoo! Hallelujia back at ya, Rabbit!

Still have a swelly belly, however, I did see family yesterday that I haven't seen since surgery and everyone said my tummy looked much smaller - yeah! Guess from where I'm looking, it doesn't appear as flat.

Incision is still quite prominent, but there is no bleeding, oozing or whatnot. Elvis - I don't like the sound of your situation. I'd talk with your doctor again - there may be a reason it's not healing completely and if it hurts it sounds like it's infected.

Have maintained the whopping 4 lb loss (guess beggars can't be choosers) and have been trying to walk more. The weather in NJ is really nice so I did walk about a mile today. Going to go tomorrow, too.

Have two interviews.......keep your fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is well! s Paula

tc231...it's wonderful to hear from you and that you had a successful meeting with the new gyn. congrats on having healed up and you're on your way! i was wondering if you decided to join that cancer support group you were mentioning a few days ago? you seem like the type of person who thrives on being with others and you would certainly have a lot to offer anyone in the group with all the knowledge you have gained on this website. i know myself, i have felt better out walking and being stopped by people who have wondered why i haven't been walking our dogs in the morning. we have an irish setter and a gordon setter...beautiful large dogs! it's just great talking to people again, some i don't even know their names but now they know what's happened to me. it really does help being around people!

take care of yourself, don't overdo it just because you got the green light! keep posting! sweet dreams.

MYSELF??? ha ha...anyhow....I get cleared to hit the gym, I get there last night all pumped up and ready to hit the iron and find out that they gym is closing on Saturday. grrrrrrrrrrrrr...this is the second gym that I've been at that has closed in less than a year. I already found a new one and it looks so awesome!!! The have STEPMILLS there, anyone know what that is? It is this huge machine where you constantly walk up a set of moving stairs, it kicks you A#%!!! Anyhow, just wanted to check in. the dr. ran a fsh and hormone test on me so that we'll know what hrt is appropriate, and she said that I could stay on hrt despite my blood clot WOO HOO!!!!

Gotta go get ready for "work".....
