I am 16 days post op (LAVH) and have had pinkish spotting off and on, then brownish discharge off and on, and now I just started having fresh red bloody discharge. Anyone else having this?

I have been having 'menstrual-like' cramping in my lower back for a couple days now along with this new red discharge. I called the doctor and they said that I probably have been overdoing it and to rest. They said they would only be concerned if the bleeding was heavy like a period. I just think it's odd to be fresh looking blood now since I was having old brownish stuff for a week!

I have enjoyed reading all of your posts. I am not too quick on the posting - my kids keep me busy or use the computer too much!

Good Evening Ladies! A better day today but am still SO tired. I am not able to get much sleep at night. Seems I close my eyes and all these crazy thoughts come to mind....weird stuff. It's like I have had too much coffee or something. For the last three days I have been dragging. Forced myself to go out with dh today. He has it in his head he wants a flat screen TV for bedroom. His idea of shopping for a big ticket item like that is you go to every store within a 100 mile radius to see where you can get the best deal!

I too have that 'pain' in my right butt cheek....especially noticable in the car today. And for the first time I have noticed a pulling, tingling twinge on right side of insision. Guess this is all normal reading your comments. I don't go back to the doctor till April 12 so your input is especially helpful.

My appetite comes and goes.....one day nothing sounds good and the next I eat non stop. I am on Weight Watcher "hiatis" right now. Though by now I would be rady to get back counting points but just don't have the energy for it.

Did manage to cut dh's hair today....he doesn't have much so it's a buzz cut everytime. Anyhow, it's 'tradition' to due that sans clothing...easier to clean up so on thing led to another and he had to get some relief. I had no desire whatsoever so I am hopeing this gets better. The thought of anything close to 'there' is not one I enjoy right now.

My reading frenzy has stopped suddenly. I just feel too foggy to concentrate. Watching HGTV and Style (Clean House is my new favorite) is about all I can comprend. Hope this clears up soon, this brain fog.

Going back to work.....I don't even care any more. If I had enough sick days I'd consider staying out the rest of the school year.....I counted up today and when I go back there are only 29 days left in the year. I think I could do it.

Well, ladies, blessings to you all. Tomorrow is another day!

Bionic

I had the ablation 2 years ago and had no discharge whatsoever since surgery 3/20. I kept readin posts here thinging something was wrong since I didn't have any! The ablation was a success in stopping my periods completely. Unfortunately, I developed the fibriods post ablation. Guess we are 'lucky' huh???

Teacherjpm and Bionic,

I also had an ablation done last Feb. Haven't seen a speck of blood since then. Like you Teacherjpm, my fibroids returned...with a vengence too!

Welcome to all the newbies. You will love the insight from all of these wonderful ladies.

I am two weeks out and all I can do is cry my stupid eyes out about everything. I am severely depressed. I called my ob-gyn office and they took me off from the patch and put me on a stronger hrt pill. hopefully this will work because I'm very very depressed.

TeacherJPM,Bionic,& Kim123, I also had ablation done Oct 2005, and my periods stopped completely, and I developed Fibroids. But, I have been bleeding everyday since my TVH. Jeezo, I'm hoping it'll stop soon, but can't complain, because I feel better now than I have in 3 years!!!!

Dear TC231,
You are VERY NORMAL to feel depressed. I haven't talked to one woman who has had a hyterectomy and doesn't feel sad & depressed!
Who wouldn't be depressed after going through this? I sat here yesterday and just cried and cried about all of it. The fact that my reproductive organs have been removed and I never had bio. children makes me very sad in itself. Then there is the pain of it all...then the immediate loss of hormones...I could go on and on, but my point is that it's not fun, period. (No pun intended!)
What I have learned though is that there are thousands of women out there all around the world who have gone through this before us and they have rebounded and gone on to be very happy. Often happier than they were before. If you are very young, the estogen drop may be more severe, have faith in your doctor. I think most of the OB/GYN's out there are very competent and she will get your dose regulated so that you feel back to your self again.
Hang in there! It's only been a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks from now you may feel 100% better!
